Authors note: since I never really specified, the story takes place a year and eight months after the movie (so it's like April or something). also there will be Kristanna in the story, and Kristoff and Anna are engaged.
Elsa's POV
The ride back to the castle was silent. I've never been one to mind the quiet, but the silence between us was uneasy. When we get back, the unease in our silence had thinned, but only to a hardly noticeable amount. "Do you regret giving me another chance? Now that you have to protect me for the rest of my life," Hans asked, shocking me with his question.
"No," I answer. "Do you regret asking for it, knowing that you have to risk your life for me?"
"No."
The next few moments are, once again, spent in silence, as we walk through the halls.
"The castle really is beautiful," Hans said looking around.
"Thank you," I replied simply. "Hans, just because we have this prophecy thing, doesn't mean I forgive you. You know that right?"
"Of course. You said yourself, I would have to earn my forgiveness. And, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I assume you wouldn't be one to go back on your word."
"You've assumed correctly," I say with a small laugh. We had reached our rooms.
"Well goodnight Queen Elsa," Hans says bowing.
"Goodnight," I say just after I turn around to open my door I stop. "Hans, you're welcome to join us for breakfast, if you would like."
"Thank you," Hans says, before entering his room, and closing the door behind him.
I enter my room and sigh when I see how much paperwork I left unfinished. Exhaustion takes over though, and I put on my night wear, and go to sleep.

I woke up with the lack of Anna's yelling. I look over at the clock and realize it's only after six am. Knowing that falling back asleep isn't an option, I go over to my desk and work on paper work.
"Elsa, wake up!" Anna's yelled after knocking.
"Already up," I replied. I had finished my paperwork sooner than expected, and had gotten dressed. It was a simple purple dress with a teal bodice. Anna walked in and closed the for behind her.
"You know we never get a chance to talk that often." She says sitting in a chair by me.
"I know. It gets lonely in here too," I say looking at the large room. "So, what do you wanna talk about?" I ask Anna.
"I don't know, it's just that I feel like something bad is going to happen today. I mean not as bad when you froze Arendelle, but still bad. You know?" Anna quickly rambles.
I nod my head. I understood this feeling all too well. "How long have you been up?" I ask wanting to change the subject.
"About an hour. You?"
"Since a little after six," I reply simply. "Do you know where Olaf is? I haven't seen him since I brought back summer."
"He's usually wandering around the castle or the town. If I see him, I can tell him you want to see him."
"That'd be nice. Thank you," I say before a slightly uncomfortable silence comes over us. It's not abnormal for our conversations to fall short. We've never had much to talk about, believe it or not. "How's the wedding planning going?" I ask.
"Good, we've decided we want it in the fall, and what kind of cake we want. We also need to go through the trolls version of a wedding, because the trolls are basically Kristoff's family," Anna says in a small rant. "So, I never got the chance to properly ask, how was your stay in the Southern Isles? Did they treat you good?"
"It was nice. They treated me with respect," I say simply. Though their kindness might only extend so far, I think to myself.
"Well, breakfast should be ready soon, so I'm gonna head downstairs. Bye," Anna says before leaving.
"Bye," I say as she leaves. I should probably get Hans up, I think as I stand up from my chair. I walk over to his room and knock on the door a few times.
"Hm? Who is it?" I hear him reply in a tired voice.
"It's me, Elsa," I reply. "Breakfast is going to be ready soon, I thought I should let you know."
"Oh, thank you. I'll be down in a moment," Hans said in a slightly more lively tone.
"Alright," I say before heading down stairs.
"So is Prince Sideburns going to join us?" Anna asks looking up from the book she had with her.
"I think so," I say sitting down. I hear Anna groan in annoyance. "Try to forgive him Anna. I know you don't like him, but he's been through a lot lately."
"I will! I am! I just don't feel comfortable around him. And besides it's not like he hasn't put us through a lot." Anna says loudly
"And he has but," I begin before getting cut off by Anna.
"I mean maybe he has been through a lot recently in jail or whatever, but still. He better not try anything either if he does I swear," Anna says before stopping her small rant suddenly, her gaze focusing towards the doorway. I look over my shoulder, and see Hans standing in the doorway, rather awkwardly. After a what seemed like minutes of awkward silence and glances, Hans walks over and sits down, a little away from both me and Anna.
Gerda, after a few minutes of our uncomfortable silence, brought in breakfast. "So, Hans, how did you sleep?" I asked, not being able to take the silence any longer.
"Good," He replied simply.
"That's nice," Anna said, more than likely trying to make the situation less awkward, though it wasn't really working.

Hans' POV
Breakfast was spent mainly in silence. "If you'll excuse me," Anna said getting up quickly and exiting, leaving behind a book I assumed she was reading earlier and forgetting to push in her chair.
After a few seconds Elsa spoke up. "I have a request for you Hans."
"What is it?" I ask her looking up from my plate.
"If you don't mind, I'd like you to help out down at the docks today," she says calmly.
"No I don't mind," I say.
