Cyclone batted a Terrible Terror around his cave where he lived with his parents, Speed and Nightingale. He was a Night Fury, and Speed named him Cyclone because he always glowed during a storm, but Cyclone found out he could glow if it he was wet, too.

Whenever he asked his parents why he wasn't with other Night Furies, they would just stay quiet until he stopped asking. He also had the memory of three other figures beside him when he hatched. Later, those three were joined by two others. He guessed that the two big shapes next to him at first were Speed and Nightingale, but the other two took the smaller shape away. Weirdly enough, he was also taken away by those other two shapes. But then he returned to his parents somehow, and for that he was happy.

He had also asked about the two strange big figures that landed next to his father and mother, and the small one, but they refused to answer him.

Cyclone had soon put it out of his mind,  and accepted his life as it was. But when, on rainy nights, he sat and the nagging thoughts of his past wrapped him in their mysteries. He sat, gloomy and  lonely, and hoping that one day Speed would tell him of his memories.

One day, when Cyclone was 3 years old, Speed offered to take him to the main city of the Night Fury Kingdom. The Kingdom was in Nowhere, a group of floating islands a bit west of Desolation and south of Hopelessness.

Cyclone hopped around his cave for an hour after Speed took him to the capital. He was so excited about everything that happened. First, Speed had taken him to see the Castle Dens. Then he showed Cyclone around the nursery. But, for some reason, he avoided the Citizen Dens.

Now Cyclone was waiting for Speed to bring home his daily catch from his hunt.

"Mooommmm," Cyclone whined. "Where is Dad? He usually comes back by now."

"Sweetie, your 'dad' is out hunting something specially for you," Nightingale replied.

A flash of lightning lit up the sky, and a bout of thunder came crashing down after it. Rain, seeped into their cave, and formed puddles on the floor. Cyclone started to glow. He gazed admiringly at his scales. He could not get over the glowing thing.

The sound of dragon wings shook the air.

"Dad!" Cyclone rushed to the entrance of their cave.

A moment before he spotted the Night Fury, he heard that the wing beats were to soft and quick to be as old as Speed. Then he spotted the approaching Night Fury.

And it was glowing.
