12-The audio tape

The following chapter is the conversation between John and his wife in the audio tape.

John: Hey Stacey, how are you?

Stacey: I am fine. How are you doing?

John: I am a little bit upset.

Stacey: Why, what happened?

John: Affleck tried to run away with Laura yesterday. I had to give them an electric shock.

Stacey: What!! You gave them an electric shock. How could you be so cruel John.

John: Well, I had to be so. But I fear that Affleck is getting his memories back. So I just gave him a shock so that he may forget it again. But it had a reverse effect. He started remembering all those things. He remembered his wife was pregnant.

Stacey: Oh, he must have gone broke after remembering all that stuffs. But you never told me what exactly happened that night.

John: Well, you don't need to know.

Stacey: Why not? I am your wife. I have the right to all those things.

John: Stacey, just beleive me. It is for our good. It is best that no-one may know that.

Stacey: Okay, I beleive you.. And Laura, isn't she the girl you were talking about three days before.

John: Yes, she is the one. She also has a disastrous past. I think worse than Affleck's.

Stacey: I feel pity for both of them.

John: Me too.. But I am trying my best to not let them discover their memories. It is harmful for everyone.

Stacey: What other things did Affleck remember?

John: He remembered that he had came to my house to ask for money, but was not able to recall whether I helped him or not. So he asked me the same question.

Stacey: Did you tell him the truth?

John: No. I LIED.. I told him that I helped him that day.

Stacey: And what will he think about you when he will recall the truth.

John: I will try my best to not let him recover his memories. It will be dangerous for all of us. I will give him some medicines which will make him to forget everything.

Stacey: Well, what do you think will happen when he will remember all those things.

John(After a long pause and thinking):

HE WILL DIE...

The tape ended. How could a memory kill him? Maybe Laura was right. Someone is benefitting from this drama and once Affleck would recover his memory, he will be killed by the same person who killed his wife. Affleck was in a dilemma. He did not know what to do and how to react. He thought about Laura. She had suffered more than Affleck. But Affleck wanted to find out what happened to him and who killed his wife. He wanted to kill that person. He wanted to tear his intestines out. But how? He thought he should make a plan with Laura. Now he got a reason to live. His only reason to live was--- Revenge.
