The Murderer's Tragedy

8- The end of life

Affleck lied on his bed. He remembered the old days with his wife. He remembered when he saw her for the first time at the age of 8. She had came to live in his neighbourhood and he fell in love with her at the first sight. He knew deep inside his heart that she will be his future queen. They both went to the same school and same college. They were very famous couples of their school. After their graduation they married and headed towards their happy marriage life. But no one had ever thought that this all would end like this. It was beyond his wildest dream that someone will kill his wife and leave him to die alive for the rest of his life.

He just laid down, when he heard the nurses and the wardboys talking about the underworld. They were talking about someone named Mr. Brown.

Mr. Brown!! Affleck felt like he has heard this name before. But obiviously, he was unable to recall who he was. He then tried to listen to them in hope that he may gather some useful information.

One of the nurses said," Mr. Brown has recently killed his new assistant because he was trying to leave his job."

A wardboy replied," It is well said that someone may enter the underworld by his wish, but he cannot leave it that way. Poor assistant."

Suddenly, Affleck's mind showed him some blur and broken images. He remembered he used to work as a salesman in a company and he was fired from the job because he was unable to sell anything. He was not able to recall what happened after that. So he continued listening to the staff.

The nurse said," But many people are saying that he is still alive. It is just a rumor that he has killed him, but it is not so. And also, from that day, Mr. Brown never came in news again. It looks like his business is also gone along with his assistant."

The wardboy asked,"Business? What kind of business?"

The nurse replied,"Don't you know about that, the business of drugs."

Suddenly, everyone stopped talking at once. Affleck wondered what might have happened that made them to stop their talking at once. He tried to look out of the window. What he saw, sent a chill to his spine.

He saw everyone was lying on the floor. They all had a glass of water, or maybe something else which they were drinking. Affleck took less than a second to realise that they were poisoned to death. Affleck shouted,"Help, they all are dead. Please someone help me."

Suddenly, he saw Laura coming towards him.A wardboy was following her and she had a knife in her hand. Affleck got a feeling that it was Laura who was the reason behind their death. He realised that she was really mad. And now she was coming for him. Affleck felt this was the last day of his life.
