"This is awesome!" I shouted as we rode through the city streets of New Orleans at night. It was truly a sight to see.
My hair whipped past my head as we took a sharp turn and seemed to slow down a little.
"We're almost there!" Leo said, turning into a parking lot.
He parked the motorcycle, cut the engine, and removed his helmet.
He ran his hands through his slightly wind tousled hair. I, for some reason, could not take my eyes off of the sexy Greek god in front of me. My eyes unwillingly followed the motion and flex of his muscles as he shook his hair out and turned around to face me with a smirk already on his face.
"You've got a little drool there, Princess."
I snapped out of my trance and rolled my eyes, lightly hitting his shoulder before taking off my own helmet and shaking my hair out.
However, because I was no where near sexy, my hair got stuck in my lip-gloss and I spat and smacked it out of the way. Way to impress, Alison.
Leo was just staring at me with an amused grin on his face while a glared at him.
"You done?" He asked.
I scowled at him before hopping off the bike and looking up at the building. It was a small place, painted a bright yellow, yet the setting sun did it no justice. The big red letters on the top read KiKi's Place. It was had a cute little diner look to it.
We entered through the glass doors and a little bell went off above us. The inside looked just like a scene out of an old 50's movie. It was amazing. How did Leo find this place? He seemed like the type to hang out in underground fight clubs or biker bars.
I followed Leo to a booth with a window view. Soon after a waitress came and took our orders.
"What can I get for the lovely couple?" She said with a strong local accent.
"Oh, we're not--"
"I'll have a double cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake." Leo said, interrupting me telling the waitress that we're not a couple.
"I'll um, have the same thing." I said. I've never been here before so I'll just save time and get the same thing as Leo.
"Alright, I'll be right back with your food."
And then there were two.
I avoided looking at Leo as I admired the scenery and the decor. Whoever Kiki was, she sure knew how to decorate.
"How did you find this place?" I finally asked him, fidgeting with my fingers under the table so he couldn't tell how nervous I was about this 'date'.
Was it a date?
"KiKi is a friend of a friend. My, uh, dad used to help out her family with bills and stuff like that. That was before he left us." He finished with a somber look on his face.
I glanced at him, shocked. His father left?
"So who do you live with now?"
"That guy you saw in my house before. My brother, Ian. He looks a lot older than me but he's only 19. He's kind of taken on the roll of my 'guardian' and he works really hard to keep us afloat, ya know?"
"Yeah, surprisingly I know exactly what you mean. My dad...left us when I was little. My mom hasn't let herself take a break since. But now she's..."
"She's what?" He asks.
"Nothing, she's fine." I force a smile as I remember the fact that she's not only moving on, she's marrying a new guy.
