MARK LAUGHED at the fact that nari had to spend more than half of her day in the detention room because she was late. stupid her. nari was tired of mark laughing at her carelessness. she was just agitated that day. maybe it was because of lucas. maybe.
"so did you have fun with him all alone?" jihoon asked, drinking his cold water. nari laughed, she rolled her eyes then saying, "yeah right. if mdm jung didnt walk in, i wouldve already punched him right in the face," . jihoon smiled, "ive taught you well," he jokingly remarked.
of course nari didnt tell jihoon about how they almost kissed and how she found out that he wasnt a virgin.
at that moment, nari saw lucas walking right towards her table. she felt this tingling feeling running across her spine when their eyes met. lucas let out a small and discreet smirk, only for nari to see, and so she did.
nari's eyes widened, she gulped, telling herself to get out of her bubble. but her eyes followed wherever lucas went — past by her table and to the table where his popular friends were located. "yukhei!" his friends yelled out his name the moment he got in sight by them.
mark noticed where nari was looking. obviously, mark knew that she was clearly catching feelings. at this point, he was just waiting until the day nari admits that she really did like him so mark could rub it in her face a 'hah! i told you so!'. he was frustrated, why cant she just admit it? everybody can notice it, except for jihoon — he's a dumbo.
but deep down in mark, he still had a little bit of hatred for lucas. come on, wong yukhei is the biggest jerk you can ever find in this school. he didnt want nari to fall in love and then get her heart broken the next day. he didnt want her to get hurt.
that's why he was shocked the day nari told him about their first encounter. how they met and how he voluntarily bought her two drinks because she couldnt decide on one. the self proclaimed jerk slash king of the school being a kind person for once?
and remember how nari told mark about how they almost kissed? of course he was mad. how could he play nari like that, especially when he was with yaemin. everyone knew that they were together, even nari — but why was she so stupid to let herself fall for him in that moment like that?
mark eventually kicked nari's shin from under the table. nari jumped a little, then shooting daggers at mark, giving him that 'wtf dude' look. without jihoon looking, mark mouthed out — youre staring. and she awkwardly shrugged, trying to make it seem like as if she never did stare at him in the first place.

bell rang, class was dismissed. teenagers filled the hallway. nari was one of them. she made her out of class and down to her locker. she opened the locker and placed her unwanted books into it.
