NARI MUNCHED on her chips. with both their legs up against the wall, the two stare at the baby blue sky while eating on snacks. by two, i mean nari and lucas. after school, instead of heading back home, the two decide on going on the rooftop to "talk things out"; about what happened earlier that day.
"sorry," lucas apologized for the hundredth time. nari rolled her eyes without lucas seeing. "shut up lucas, that's the hundredth apology, possibly," nari commented. "well what can i do? i messed shit up today! i shouldnt have ever lied," he whined.
nari let out a soft sigh, she was admiring the sky. out of her own clique, she was the only one that actually found interest in the sky and all those cosmo shit. mark liked playing video games while jihoon loved running around causing trouble with practically the entire city.
"do you remember how we first met?" lucas asked out of the blue. nari turned to look at him who was staring up the sky. she turned back. she raised an eyebrow, then scoffed. "sudden question much?" nari joked.
lucas giggled, "sorry, i was thinking of how i met all my friends. then i thought of you," he replied. "wow, should i be honoured that the wong lucas is calling me his friend?" nari sarcastically gasped. lucas jokingly rolled his eyes before nudging her on her elbow.
"you were making out with yerim, how could i ever forget that disgusting sight?" nari recalled back that memory and cringed. lucas laughed it off, pretending like as if it wasnt awkward. "come to think of it, yerim wasnt even your damn girlfriend," nari gasped and this time it was for real.
lucas's eyes widened, he was taken aback. "oh my god! was wong lucas cheating on yaemin with ha yerim?" nari turned to look over at lucas who was speechless. "is that why you broke up with yaemin?" nari asked the boy laying next to her.
words were the last thing on lucas's mind at that moment. obviously, he broke up with her because he didnt have feelings for yaemin and it was because nari had him feeling like something, something he didnt feel while he was with yaemin.
"yukhei?" nari waved her hand infront of lucas's face. he eventually snapped out of his reverie. he looked over at her, then weakly smiled, trying to not make things awkward between the two of them. but the thing is, things have never been awkward between the both of them.
although they were acquaintances before, they always got along well. even when they both hated each other, there was never this sense of awkwardness between them.
"oh? yeah, maybe that was why i broke up with yaemin," he softly spoke, letting out a deep breath, he was starting to feel uneasy. he was lying. but nari didnt see that. "what does yerim have that yaemin didnt, though?" nari questioned him.
lucas raised his eyebrow, then laughing. "yerim? yerim was nothing compared to yaemin. it's just a one night stand, without the sex of course," he commented. nari pursed her lips, looking away from him and looked at the clouds instead.
