I recovered my consciousness and looked around. My car was halted at the side of the road. Thank God!! If I hadn't turned my car at the right time, they would've held my funeral tomorrow. I let out a sigh and was about to start my way to Jenny's home but my guts were telling me to check the car once. I looked down at the accelerater and noticed that I've broked my break because I was pushing it too hard! Jesus! Now.... what?!

Fortunately my car was at the side so I left it there and decided to walk. I checked the time, 10:15!! Holy cow dung! I'll be late.. I started walking faster and a car stopped by me.

"Hey, Bro!" a familiar voice chirped by my ear.

"Zavier!" I sat in his car and requested him to drop me at Connels'.

"Who's this.... Jenny?" he asked in a disgusting manner.

"Just drive, man.... Hey by the way, why are you here? I mean what are you doing in Brooklyn?"

"I'm... shifting here"

"What? Why?" I jumped at this.

"Long story bro.... and we're here."

"Thanks" I patted his shoulder and climbed outside.

I headed to Jenny's room and leaned at the door frame putting my hands in my pockets. I saw Jenny, she was wearing a plain white full sleeved tee and jeans. Her hairs were perfectly curled up and she was applying mascara. After a while she noticed my presence and walked towards me.

"H-hi."

"You okay?" She nodded.

"Let's go.. come" she grabed my hand and we went to their backyard.

It was completely flourished along with faint music. There was a great outcome. Many politicians joined the funeral. I noticed that Jenny left my side and was now at the bar.

I saw 2 glasses of vodka already bottom upped and she was sipping another.

"Whao.. hold your horses, Jenis."

"I know my limits."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah.." she kept looking at the ground. I tucked a lose string of hair behind her ear and she shoved my hand away.

"I'm sorry for last night.. I-I was--"

"No! It's absolutely fine. I completely understand."

"No you don't." she still didn't make an eye contact. But those words were harsh..

"I do, Jenis. I've lost my mom too.."

"I'm.... I'm so sorry, Aaron.." she said as she tucked my arm and made me look at her. I gave her a sad smile. Now it was me who avoided an eye contact.

I remembered how it was back then.. but I dodge the thought and ordered a drink. As I sipped my liquor, I felt warmth at my chest. Jenny was hugging me. And she was crying.

"Calm down...... Shh Jenis... it'll be okay." I whispered as I tucked my head in her neck. "It'll be okay.."

"Ahem.." she let go off me as her sister showed up.

"You want to join me and mom for some last words?"

"No."

***Jenis's POV***

Erica left. I turned to Aaron, he was sipping his drink and something was bothering him. I'm so selfish. I completely forgot about his mom. How could I be so harsh?

"Aaron?"

"um hmm?"

Again.... I lost myself in his eyes. But the charm and sparkle they had last night were nowhere to be found. There were lots of questions and worries in them.. Is that because of me?
