Chapter 17
I woke up with a killing headache. I can't feel my legs and my body is paining terribly. *sneez sneez sneez* OK. I've probably catch a flu. Ugh!
I groaned and grabbed my phone.
5 missed calls: Aaron.
17 messages: Aaron.
Oh.. someone missed me. I got up and took a quick bath. Today's Sunday. Therefore, wear as comfortable clothes as possible. After having my breakfast, I replied him.
Me: Sorry I slept earlier last night.
I hit the send button and my phone buzzed immediately. Geez! This guy is fast.
Aaron: It's okay. Are you mad at me?
Me: Maybe.
"Miss Jenis D' Connel, I'm taking to you." I heard my mom saying my full name. I'm screwed.
"Huh?"
"Technology has made my daughter deaf." she shook her head in dismay and snatched my phone away.
"Heyy! What do you want mom!"
She threw her hands up, exasperated and continued "Me and Erica are going to visit your grandparents."
"You're not taking me?"
"You're ill honey. You need to rest."
"Okay. Phone."
"No. You won't get it till tomorrow. Take care. Bye." she kissed my forehead and left.
Wow! How am I gonna survive without my phone.
I was rolling on my bed moaning and groaning. I want my phone back!
The bell rang up and I opened the door. It was Zavier.
"Hi!" he greeted.
"Hey..?" I said confusingly unsure about how I'm looking right now. Because if you ask me, he's looking unimaginably handsome.
"Uh.. You forgot to take your mask."
"You came all the way to return a mask?"
"No. I also wanted to check up on you."
"Why?"
"You were sick last night."
Blood rushed to my cheeks and I smiled.
"So.." he said shoving his hands in his pockets "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fi-" sneeze. "Fine" I said and sniffed.
"Right. I can see that."
"No really. It's just c-" sneeze "mild cold." I completed and rubbed my nose.
"Come I'll take you to the hospital." he said and grabed my wrist dragging me to his car.
"No no Zave. I'm fine. I'll be fine.. I just need some-" another sneeze. Ugh! "rest."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Come inside." I said rubbing my arms as I felt a cold breeze combing my hairs. I looked around and saw the surroundings wet. Moist air and muddy ground.
"It rained this morning" he said acknowledging my confused expressions.
"Oh.." I said coldly as I realised that summer's already over.
"You need something?"
"No Zave. I'm fine. Please sit down and relax."
"Hot chocolate?"
