***Jenis's POV***
Air was crashing against my face from the rolled down window of the car. I gripped the side of my seat tightly.
"What are you doing, Zave!!" I yelled.
He accelerated the gas and I slammed back on the seat. The car headed horrifically to the end of the cliff. In no time I opened the door rolling out and I saw the car falling off the cliff.
"Are you dead?" I heard Cady.
"ZAVE!" I shrieked as I got up.
Sweet Lord. That was just a dream.
"What?" Cady asked. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah. Bad dream."
"About Zave?" she wiggled her brows.
"Cady." I said annoyingly. "Why are you here anyway?"
"I didn't knew I needed a reason to show up at your house."
"No that's not what I mean."
"Of course you do. You've made Zave your best chap."
"Not you, too!" I moaned.
"Sorry?"
"Forget it." I said rubbing my eyes. "Geez. This fucking hangover!"
"You were drinking again last night?" Cady asked in a motherly tone and I nodded sheepishly.
"I was really upset. Mom. You know?"
"I don't. You never share things with me anymore."
"Cady, darling, you're my soul sister. I love you."
"Yeah yeah I know. Anyways, what happened?"
I recited my-pathetic-Sunday story again. She shook her head at the end.
"Bad." she said after sometime.
"I know, right?"
"So to lighten the weight of your mother's lecture, you went out. And started drinking yourself to death?"
"Zave was with me. And.." I stopped. I can smell something fishy from last night but I can't make out what.
"And?"
"Forget it." I stated. "Today, my dear, would be my funeral."
She laughed. "Why so?"
"Couldn't do Ms. Quinn's chemistry project."
"What? Then what's that file saved in your PC?"
"What?"
"I was using it a while ago and saw a file named 'chem'."
"Really? I don't remember.."
I got off my bed and saved the project file in my pen-drive. He did this. Zave, I mean. That guy!
I got up, took a quick bath and went outside. Everyone was already piled in the dining area. I took an Aspirin and joined them. I poured some cereals and milk in my bowl, stuffing my mouth in dead silence.
"Erm.." Cady broked the ice. "We're late."
Me: "Yeah."
Mom: "How's your school going?"
(Silence)
Cady: "Cool.. um.. okay."
Mom: "Jen, honey, are you still mad at me?"
(Silence)
Mom: "I'm sorry. I was.." (pause) "After losing my job I was really tensed and--"
"It's okay, mom." I said impassively. "You took out your frustration on me and I'm really used to it. I don't even care anymore."
