Chapter 6

Mariah POV

Was I really in love with a mortal and a werewolf or was I only trying to protect them? Coles back ? Why come now? So many questions ran through my mind as I lay in the darkness staring at the ceiling. I can't let him die for me disobeying the vampire law it just wouldn't be far. I pulled the covers off I ran to my closet put on my over sized grey sweater, black leggings and my white vans, I jumped out of the window landing on my feet. Vampires are like cats we always land on are feet which is weird for me but funny. I needed some air some time alone to think this through I plugged in my headphones to my iPhone 5s and started listening to Beethoven- Moonlight Sonata my parents love listening to him it relaxes them, they both where musicians and so was I but it helps them think that's how they meet actually. Dad told me he was playing to Beethoven on the piano in a music store when mom came in talking about her playing Classical music with her violin and the rest is history. Listening to Beethoven makes me think of them, I miss them so much and I will get revenge on the vampires that slaughtered them both.

As I kept walking toward the park I stopped by a biker bar to see Jake come out he was flat out drunk with a couple of friends, I almost forgot that they won against the Lions today. Jake accidentally bumped into a biker and make him spill his beer on his black long sleeve leather jacket. The guy pulled out a knife and stabbed Jake in his stomach it was some hard core shit his friends ran didn't even help or call 911 but stabbing him for cheap spilled beer? I quickly got angry I felt my eyes on fire my hands had floating fire appeared good thing nobody was around to see. I ran towards the guy I was kind of hungry so I drank him dry then burned him to ashes in just 2.3 secs, Wow I really need to control this power but I was hot literally.

I turned my focus on Jake he was loosing a lot of blood good thing I just ate or he would have been dinner. I couldn't help but admire his beauty "Mariah?" Jake said softly closing his eyes "Jake wait no stay with me I'm going to get help, ok?" I said putting pressure to his wound "You look like a beautiful angel from heaven, oh wow that's cheesy" Jake joked with a smile on his face which was really not a great time. The only thing I could do is give him my blood but that would make him kind of feel a bond between us like the werewolves and there mates but I there was nothing else to do at this moment the hospital was about a mile away and were loosing time. I took my wrist bit into it letting my blood drip into his mouth, I gave him enough to heal the wound a little. I lift his shirt and the wound was healing little by little, I put Jakes arm around my neck as we slowly made are way to my house.

I knew Mr. and Mrs. Jones would mind Jake sleeping the night after what happened to him. Kelly was downstairs feeding when I came in she immediately smelled blood and liquor. "I'll tell you later, just help me bring him to the guest bedroom please" I told Kelly as she nodded. I tucked Jake into bed he looked to peaceful sleeping, I went down stairs to tell Kelly what happened.

"So what happened ?" Kelly asked wiping the blood of her lips.

"Jake got himself in a pickle with a guy at the bar, He accidentally spilled his beer an the guy just stabbed him out of nowhere"

"OMG the poor little thing"

"He lost a lot of blood if I wouldn't had been walking he would of been dead. When I seen him get stabbed I don't know what came over me Kelly all I felt was fire in my body"

"So? you killed the guy then?"

"Yea , I was hungry so I couldn't help myself so drunk him dry then lit him on fire with one touch till I saw nothing but ashes and I felt good doing it, seeing him burn in front of my eyes"

"I think your getting a little out of hand Mariah, control the fire or it will control you"

"I know I know I'm going to"

"So let me guess you gave him your blood didn't you?"

"Ummm... maybe ?!"

"You know that will make you and his bond stronger right but only for a few weeks and you do remember Cole came back?"

"Shit I forgot about him being back he'll freak if he knew bout it but Yea I had to there was no other way the hospital was a mile away and he was dying and ... and ... Ugh !"

"Well your secret is safe with me just keep Jake away from you when Cole is around, It's ok you did the right thing I would have don't the same but go get some sleep you need it oh and the school called it's closed tomorrow because the principal went to jail for fraud"

I went and check on Jake on last time to see of he was up before I head to bed. I wanted to lay with him but I just couldn't Cole was here he'd smell Jake on me, I went to my room and took a shower to wash Jakes blood off me man did his blood smell so delicious I had to control my elemental side but who can help me? Maybe Mr.Jones could he's an earth elemental but Mrs. Jones can read minds sometimes I believe she reads mines that why I learn how to block her from doing so and she had noticed.

I wore my over grown black lion king shirt and short pajama pants I'd put my wet hair into a loose ponytail, tucked myself in as I started out my window looking at the stars as I drifted to sleep. I had a nightmare of the night me parents were killed, I remember I'd left for a football party at Christians my parent told me is couldn't go but I'm a teenager we always disobey are parents it's natural, I climbed out my window I jumped out onto the large tree outside my window and walked to his house party it wasn't far from my house. Then I received a call from my mom as I answered I heard her screaming calling for help then it went dead, fear flew all over my body as I ran home. The lights were out I opened the door only to see both of my parents dead on the kitchen floor with blood drawing out of them when I seen a guy with fangs with red eyes he told me to shhhh then he walked out the kitchen window. Tears exploded out my eyes I screamed like no tomorrow I called 911 but when I told them about my parents I fainted. I woke up gasping for air with sweat all over me, Kelly an Marie ran into my room seeing tears fall down my face they both ran to me giving me a tight huge. They were the only two who knows about the nightmare I'd been having for a while. I felt way better in both there arms it was 5 in the morning Kelly insisted she sleep in my room even though I told her I was fine it was only a nightmare but Kelly was very stubborn she would listen. An hour later both of us drifted to sleep, the sunlight woke us up. I remembered about Jake what if he sees us feeing when if he's up good think Kelly had already told her parents the 411 what a relief. I got dressed and walked down the long hallway upstairs into the guest room where I put Jake in to see him waking up then focused on me with a bright smile on his face appeared. I wore a white sundress my hair was wavy and still a little wet.

"Mariah?! you look beautiful"

"Umm.. thanks Jake, do you remember anything from last night?"

"Yea, it's a little blurry but up to the part were I seen you putting pressure to my wound, wait..what?
" Jake said touching his scar

"Well it was wasn't that deep I just help it heal a little with a family ingredient" I lied

"Cool! wow it's practically gone! Thank you"

"Yea no problem, you'd done the same for me so you must be hungry get ready I'll take you to the diner" I said leaving the room, Jake later got ready and meet me downstairs. He meet everyone before I told him to meet me in the car so I can feed before we left.

The drive wasn't as quiet as I thought it would be he broke the silence talking about what he like and disliked it's was a drive. He opened the door for me such a gentlemen, we sat in a booth behind the door. Jake ordered a strawberry milkshake, pancakes, scrabbled eggs, bacon, sausage and grits man did he have an appetite. I heard a familiar voice walking into the diner, OH SHIT! not this bitch I thought to myself I knew her scent, laugh. Damn it Kirsty was here! out of all diners why this one ? Me and Jake turned around to notice she was scowling at us with such hatred.

By the way she looked I already knew she wanted to start trouble.
