Jasmine's POV

"Are you sure you don't need anything an extra blanket more pillows anything?" I tucked Angel in for bed

I already gave her one of my pajama's (since she only had a school uniform on her) and did everything I could to help her yet I felt like I haven't done enough.

It was 8 o'clock and Anthony still hasn't come home I assume that he went to get drinks with his friends that's what usually happened when he doesn't text me I don't really understand why people have phones but they never pick up their phones or answer messages.

"Yes I'm fine you providing me with all this and letting me open up to you was all I needed."She smiled

That was like the sweetest thing she has said to me today she's so kind almost like..Noami.

I head out of the guest room and back to my room where I hopped onto my bed and scrolled through my Twitter feed.

I came across a familiar photo one of my dorm mates from college posted a photo that had all of us in it it also had..Noami.

I have no clue about Naomi's whereabouts I hadn't had contact with her for a long time the last time I called her all I heard were two gunshots and a dial tone I never really out any thought into that phone call and I dismissed it but she hasn't contacted me for years.

I decided to stop dwelling on the past and get some sleep over thinking something doesn't get you anywhere.

I woke up beside Anthony who was sleeping and snoring in my direction I glanced over at my alarm clock and it beamed 8:30 am.I slowly got out of bed not wanting to wake up Anthony.

I walked over to my dresser where my phone was charging I picked it up and noticed that I had a bunch of notifications.

All schools cancelled today

Last known survivors of the Graham Windham Orphanage pass away at 4am some are still missing.

I ran down the Hall to the guest room to see that Angel wasn't there.

"If she isn't here that means.." I slowly walked down the steps skipping the 8th creaky step

There she was in the living room sitting in front of the big grandfather clock cross-legged it almost looked like she was waiting for something.

"Good morning." I walked up to her

"I wish it was a good morning." She muttered as she glanced towards the window.

She looked like a small marshmallow in my oversized pajamas.

"So you heard about the news." I sat down beside her.

"More like I read about the news." She showed me the newspaper she had in her hand.

"And you're not bothered by this at all?"

"I am but I just don't want it to bother me like all my other problems."

I reached over and hugged her it was a deep warm hug.

"I'm so proud of you for not letting it bother you but you don't have to act as if nothing is wrong."

She lifted her face up and I noticed that her eyes and cheeks were wet.

"Are you--."

"I just realized that even if you take care of me child services would find out eventually and take me back to him."
