"Okay Carlos!" Ben shouted to the boy from across the pitch. Ben was standing next to Elliot. Ben had a clipboard and a whistle around his neck while Elliot just stood with his arms folded. Both of what the boys were wearing the same: plain t-shirts, shorts and blue converse shoes. The only difference between was that Bens was a yellow shirt and Elliot's was a blue one. Elliot was wearing a t-shirt making the contraptions on his wrists fully visible. Since he was wearing shorts Carlos could see that the same steel cuffs were on the boys ankles as well.
"Okay we're going to do some sprints!" Ben shouted as Carlos got to kneeling position. Not really sure why he did it, Elliot and Ben looked at each other strangely but let Carlos do what he was doing. Carlos was wearing black shorts. A red and black tank vest top with his signature black fore gloves with boots of the same colour.
Ben stared the timer and the second he did a small barking noise came from across the pitch. Elliot laughed as the dog spotted Carlos who was running and began to chase after him thinking it was a game. Once Carlos realised the dog was running after him he sped up tremendously and a look of fear and terror cane over his face as he ran past the two boys. Ben cheered when he saw how fast Carlos was but Ben and Elliot both realised that he didn't stop and saw the dog chase him into the nearby woods. Elliot looked at Ben and said quietly "I'll go get him".
"Be careful" Ben said putting a hand on Elliot's shoulder as the other boy nodded and started to run the the opposite direction.
Elliot followed the dogs barking to a small tree to which he saw Carlos sitting on a tiny branch balancing a few metres off the ground.
"Carlos!" Elliot shouted with a silent hint of humour in his voice.
"Ben?!" He called back.
"No it's me..Elliott".
Dude, the dog was now silent at the presence of the older boy.
"Why are you standing there? Help me! This thing is a killer!" Carlos screamed as he pointed to the dog. Elliot lifted the dog and whispered into its ear as it licked his cheek.
"He's going to chase me down and rip out my throat! It's a vicious, wild pack animal!" Carlos shouted again seeing Elliot holding him.
"Hey!" Elliot said offended but softened "who told you that?".
"My mother?!" He replied.
"Cruella?"
"She's a dog expert?" Carlos said convinced. "Why are you holding him? He going to attack you!" He screamed once more as he clutched the trunk of the tree he was in.
"Carlos? You've never actually met a dog before have you?" Elliot asked softly.
"Of course not" Carlos replied in a normal voice.
"Dude!" Elliot said gesturing to the dog in his hands, "meet Carlos", "Carlos! Meet dude, he's my dog". Dude looked at Carlos and then back to Elliot uninterested as Elliot looked up to Carlos and smiled.
"He doesn't look like a vicious rabid pack animal?" Carlos said curiously.
"Here" Elliot said holding out his hand to help Carlos down form the tree "before you fall" hesitantly Carlos paused and then took the boy's hand. When the two boys touched Carlos shrunk back. Elliot's hand was freezingly ice cold.
"Sorry about that, sometimes I forget" Elliot said as he put the dog down and then guided the younger boy on which branches to step on so he wouldn't trip and fall.
Carlos made his way to the ground and crouched in front of Dude as the dog sat and waited for him to pet him.
"Go lift him up" Elliot requested. He didn't dare at first but slowly as he got closer to the dog he did copying what the other boy had done first.
"You're a good boy" Elliot said, no sure wether he was talking to the dog or Carlos.
"I guess you guys have it pretty rough on the isle huh?" Elliot said looking down at Carlos with sweet eyes. Carlos looked at him and then looks at dude again knowing the statement was true.
"Yeah, lets just say we don't get a lot of belly rubs" Carlos finally said sadly.
Elliot lifted his arm up to Carlos shoulder to comfort him while he held and patted the dog. Carlos looked at Elliot's arm, as well as the contraption on his wrist.
"What is that?" Carlos finally said softly.
"What these?" Elliot responded holding his two arms up and then gesturing down to his legs.
"Haven't you heard?" Elliot asked. Carlos shook his head looking confused.
"Well do you want the long version or the version that everyone likes to tell about me?" Elliot said finally as the two boys and dude the dog began walking.
"As you know I'm the son of Elsa? Ice Queen of Arendelle? Yeah so growing up my aunt and mother always checked up on Ansels and I to see if we had developed strange powers like my mother?" Elliot was talking in a serious tone now.
"And nothing had happened...that is until I turned fourteen..and while I was in the shower and I froze the water without meaning it, when I looked in the mirror my eyes were snow white and my lips were blue & stone cold. And I had a silver streak in my hair". Carlos was engrossed in the story as the two walked through the woods back to the pitch.
"Now that wasn't the worst of it, of course I was worried and tried to suppress it as much as could, I mean looked at what happened to my mother? So when I became a student at Aurdon Prep it was still a secret. I got a place on the tourney team and life seemed good..until that is we lost one night and me feeling stressed and angry shifted into what they called "my alter ego". My eyes turned white as well as my hair and I turned the full pitch into an ice rink and began shooting icicles out of my hand". Carlos mouth was agape and he set dude down on the ground and he began to trot behind the two boys.
"Luckily no one got hurt and when they found me apparently I was trying to get fairy godmothers wand, I don't know why? I don't even know why I turn into someone else when it happens but i do. So to answer your question, these cuffs I wear on my wrists and ankles suppress my cold powers. No powers...No alter ego. And the tourney team had to go as well as most of my friends here?"
Elliot finished with a sarcastic sad tone in his voice. Carlos gestured for Elliot to sit down on a small log which they both did and dude came in between Carlos legs as he stroked his neck.
"Listen I don't care if you have powers or not, nobody has been as kind as you and Ben have been this last week" Carlos said kindly. Elliot looked at the ground and smiled. Dude whines happily at the touch of Carlos fingers.
"He seems to like you?" Elliott said.
"Yeah, I think he does" Carlos replied.
"Why don't you keep him? I got him to keep me company after all that stuff happened but he's never really warmed to me, pun intended"
Elliot said as the two boys laughed comfortably.
"Well now you'll have me to keep you company" Carlos looked into Elliott's eyes as the boy looked back and they both smiled.Chad Charming held Evie's gloved hand as they walked under the bleachers together secretly. Evie thought this was so romantic of him to do. They finally stopped walking as Chad put his other arm up to grasp on a pole above him as he stared at Evie: "are all the people on the isle as pretty as you?" he said.
Evie giggled and looked down at the ground as she said "I like to think I'm the fairest of them all?". The two kids laughed at the joke and began moving closer to each other.
"You know you really nailed that chemistry problem today" Chad spoke up cutting Evie off from the kiss that she must've misread and now wasn't happening. "You are gonna have all the nerds in love with you, you know?" Chad poked at her.
"I'm not that smart!" Evie demanded.
"Oh come on" Chad continued.
"No seriously I'm not..." Evie said as Chad stared at her curiously. "...fine see this" Evie said taking the small mirror out of her back and showed it to the boy.
"If i ask it where something is it will tell me?" Evie said proudly. Chad grabbed the mirror from Evie and spoke into it "where's my cellphone?" He said putting it up against his ear to hear its reply. Evie waited a few seconds.
"It won't work for you silly!" She said playfully as he handed the trinket back to her.
"No biggie? My dad will just get me a new one?" Chad said with an arrogant smirk.
"Prince Charming! And Cinderella! And Fairy Godmother!" Evie replied as the two began to get closer again.
"I heard her wands in some boring museum? Do they always leave it there?" Evie asked as again there lips almost touched until Chad pulled away and jumped back.
"I wish I could talk Evie but it's just..." he stepped back again and turned his back to her "...I'm just swamped!".
There was an awkward pause as Evie put her head down.
"Unless..." Chad said turning back round to face Evie as she lifted her head to meet his "if you could knock all my homework out along with yours..then maybe we could get together some time?".
Evie looked at back resentfully but then gazed back up at Chad and she was hypnotised by his blue eyes.
"Sure" she said with a perfect smile on her face.
"Thanks babe!" Chad said before walking away leaving Evie under the bleachers. Evie stood for a moment with the bag in her hands. A voice above her leaning over the bleachers spoke "I couldn't help but hearing..." it was Doug.
Evie turned around looking annoyed at him for sneaking "are you stalking me?!".
He sat down and stuck his legs out from under and spoke to her through the bleachers "technically...yeah? But I too have a fascination with fairy godmothers wand" he said sliding all the way down till he was out from the bleachers and standing right in front of Evie, in his dark green jumper and brightly coloured blue trousers with a matching bow tie.
"Which is why I'm looking forward to the coronation?" He said placed his hand up and resting his elbow on an iron bar. Evie glanced at him while he was talking and looked at his glasses. She had never noticed that his eyes were green before. Evie loves green eyes no matter who they were on and a soft smile grew on her face as he spoke.
"Perhaps we should sit next to each other and discuss its attributes?" Doug said excitedly but the thought only bored Evie, she wanted to steal the wand not talk about it. And with that thought she realised Doug had let something slip.
"Are you saying it's used in the coronation?" Evie asked with a sly sweet look on her face.
"Yes...and asking you out?" Doug replied, and excited look gleamed over his face. Evie's smile grew and then she walked away leaving Doug to watch her as she went.
