"Children excuse me" fairy godmother said as she approached the kids desks in remedial goodness class. The four kids stopped what they were doing so they could listen, Carlos however held Dude in his hands. The two had been inseparable since they met only a few days ago.
"As you know, this Sunday is family day here at Auradon Prep and because your parents can't be here due to....distance, we have arranged for a special treat" fairy godmother continued as she turned and walk down to the front of the class. Mal stood up to follow her as did the other villain kids, as they reached the front they stood in line in front of a large television. Fairy godmother pressed a small button and Mal's mothers face appeared. It was a shock for all the kids for the picture to come up, even worse it wasn't a picture.
"Can I please see a remote?" Maleficent yelled rudely and as she fidgeted with the remote she began yelling "it's broken!" Cruella however reached over and pressed the small space bar and the image appeared. All the parents made excited sounds. Which lasted a few seconds until Cruella pointed in between the four kids and shouted "who's the old bat?!".
Mal leaned forward just behind fairy godmother who's face was now stern and angry.
"Fairy godmother?" Mal said before leaning back having an awkward smile on her face.
"Still doing doing tricks with eggplants?" Maleficent said in sarcasm while the other villains on the monitor sniggered behind her.
"I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage!" Fairy godmother said getting very annoyed.
"You couldn't give Cinderella till 1am? I mean really what the hamsters had to be back on there little wheels?" Maleficent replied as she high fived Evie's mother from behind but none of the villains children were impressed. The looked just as indifferent as Dude was in that moment.
"There were mice!" Fairy godmother shouted in response before turning to Mal and the other kids explaining "they were mice! They were" to which Mal and the other kids gave understanding faces and nods to her before she left from view and stood beside the monitor.
"Hey mom" Mal said stepping forward when fairy godmother left.
"Mal!" She yelled "I mi- mi- miss you" she spat out plainly, as if she was trying really hard to say it.
"You children are never far from out thoughts" shouted Jafar from the background as Cruella De Vil waved and the Evil Queen gestured vaguely and said "oh hey guys".
"How long must mommy wait to see you again?" Maleficent asked her daughter.
"There's a big coronation coming up. So probably some time after...that?" Mal replied.
"When!" Maleficent raged.
"Friday" Mal retorted back.
"Are you sure I can't see you before that, I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on that magi- you, I mean you, you little nugget that I love so much" Mal's mother said.
"Yes I completely understand, mother".
"Carlos!" Cruella De Vil shouted into the camera as she pushed her face right into it as she was the only one the kids could see, now close up "is that a dog?" She then grabbed the small dog puppet that always rested on her lapel and squeezed it saying "yes, it would make the perfect hyde for ear muffs hahah". Cruella laughed evilly as Carlos walked forward even in front of Mal angrily, almost pushed Mal out of the way by accident.
"He's the perfect size for a pet!" He yelled back at his mother as she was thrown back into her seat by the shout from her son.
"This dog loves me and I love him, and F Y I your dog is stuffed so give it a rest!" Carlos was about to go on but Jay pulled him back to calm himself. He was also cut off by Jays father Jafar screaming "ohh burn!" At what Carlos had just said to his mother and this started a whole argument between the four villains who were now hurling insults at each other forgetting that they were in a call with their children. Jay quickly stepped forward and pressed the same button fairy godmother had pressed to turn the TV on and the screen went black. All the kids closed there eyes and exhaled, embarrassed and humiliated in front of fairy godmother. "I'm so so sorry" Fairy godmother looked at the television screen and then back to the kids. Jay lifted his head and said "thanks for the special treat" with a genuine sad smile on his face. Fairy godmother never replied just nodded. Mal turned and began to walk out. Followed by Evie and Jay and Carlos who walked at the back together.
"M" Evie said "what do you think our parents are going to do to us if we don't pull this off?"
Mal was silent in thought for a moment "I think..they will..be quietly disappointed in us but ultimately..proud of us for trying our best!" Mal answered as she turned to Evie with an over exaggerated smile on her face.
"Really?" Asked Carlos wondering if there could be some truth in her statement.
"No" she said plainly "I think we are definitely goners!" Mal finished before biting her lip and walking out of the class being followed by her friends.
