Isabella's POV
"Okay, Bella, we have a bit of an issue," Abby said as soon as I entered the studio for my solo practice. Today is Friday which means tomorrow is the competition so today we're just cleaning all of our dances. Apparently, the producers are really cheap and they don't like paying for all of us to fly so we're taking a bus to our competition. I don't really remember where it is though."What's up?" I asked as I twirled the end of one of the French braids that Brynn had done for me.
"The costume for your solo isn't going to be here in time so either you don't do the dance or you have to learn a new one," Abby said, putting her phone down - for once - as she looked at me and noticed the confused look on my face.
"Bella, when I picture a dance in my head, I picture the costume, the music...everything. So when one of those elements doesn't match up, it throws the whole thing off. Do you want to learn a new dance or just wait until next week to do your solo?" Abby asked as I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
"I'll just learn a new dance," I mumbled.
My parents left for their vacation this morning. I think they went to Bora Bora but I honestly don't really care where they went. I still can't figure out why this is bothering me so much. I want them to be happy and I don't want them to fight but I just feel like they have bad timing and it's not fair for them to leave four kids with my abuelita and Aunt Marilyn when we literally just moved here. I mean, I can practically take care of myself but Devy is literally a baby and Nolie and Nicholas act a little weird when Demi isn't around. I don't know. I'm just annoyed.
"Okay, lets get to work then," Abby said as I tried to clear my mind so that I could learn this dance. Hence the word "tried."
After Abby taught me the whole dance she told me to take a break so that I can get my brain back into my head. Her words, not mine. I went to one of the dressing rooms to grab my water. I don't think the moms or Abby realize that these rooms aren't exactly soundproof so I can hear everything they're saying. And they're filming today so everything that they're saying is going to be on the show, which is why I'm a little annoyed that they're talking about me.
"What's going on with Bella?" Abby asked. She was probably asking Melissa.
"What do you mean?"
"This whole week she's been fine then she comes in today and she's a whiny, miserable, brooding teenager with an attitude," Abby stated. I thought I was doing a good job of hiding my attitude but apparently not.
"I don't know, she hasn't said anything," Melissa shrugged as one of the moms scoffed.
"Melissa, she's already staying with you because her parents decided to go on a vacation when they literally just moved here. She probably has a problem with that," Jill said. I don't think I like Jill. Kendall is cool but Jill can be a bit much sometimes.
"Like I said, she hasn't said anything so I can't just assume that that's the reason why she's upset," Melissa repeated as Abby sighed.
"So now I have to deal with a whiny teenager because her parents pissed her off. Great," Abby retorted as I rolled my eyes. I just know this TV show thing isn't going to last long. One of the conditions of me doing this show is that they're not allowed to discuss my family. We're not even a week in and they already are.
Last night I stayed with Melissa so that today I could just ride with them to the competition. I don't think anyone from my family is coming which kind of hurts but I just shrugged it off because now that I'm doing competitions every week it's really not that big of a deal. I'm the only soloist today and my dance is up first so Melissa is fixing my headpiece while I'm getting ready. Just like last week there's not really a story to this dance, it's just a pretty dance. It was easy to learn but kind of hard to remember, so I've been going over it in my head.
