Shit.

"Oh my gosh, Bella, that's the police!" Kenzie exclaimed as she looked behind us. "Pull over!"

"No, I'm just gonna drive to my house my grandma will know what to do!" I said, still driving but driving slowly. My house is literally down the street.

"No, pull over!" Maddie demanded, so I finally pulled over right in front of someone's house and put the car in park. I really wasn't expecting this to happen. My parents are going to kill me. What am I even supposed to say?

There was a knock on my window and I nearly leapt out of my seat before rolling the window down.

"License and registration," the officer demanded as I chewed on my bottom lip. I don't even have a license and I don't even know what a registration is.

"License and registration," he repeated. I think he knows that I'm not old enough - or licensed - to drive this car.

"Um...I left it at home?" I tried but he wasn't having it.

"Ma'am is this your car?"

"Well...technically?" I tried again, but he really wasn't having it.

"Can I assume that you live in this neighborhood?"

"Yes," I breathed out as he nodded.

"Drive to your house."

"You're letting me go?"

"No, I'm making sure that you get your parents' car home safely and that everyone else on the road is protected from you and your unlicensed driving. Lead the way."

He walked away so I rolled my window back up and put the car into drive. My abuelita is gonna kill me. No, my parents are gonna kill me. Maybe she won't tell them because she doesn't want to disturb their vacation.

It took less than two minutes for me to pull into my driveway and when I did, my abuelita was waiting outside. I got out of the car along with Maddie and Kenzie, but the officer got out as well.

"Thank you sir," my abuelita said as the officer approached her, causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"Anytime," he said, shaking her hand before getting back into his car and driving off.

"Ab-"

"Get inside the house Isabella," she demanded, causing me to groan before going inside and plopping down on the couch in the living room.

"Nope, to your mom's office. Girls, you can head home. Your mom already knows what happened," Abuelita said. Maddie and Kenzie wished me luck before they left and I had no choice but to follow her to Demi's office.

So, Demi has this giant projector in her office for things like video chatting and stuff since she still technically runs the office in New York. Now I could see her and my dad on that screen and neither of them looked too happy.

"Isabella Valderrama, what the hell were you thinking?" My dad yelled, causing me to wince as I folded my arms over my chest.

"I just wanted to get some food..."

"Postmates, Ubereats, Door Dash, hell even Melissa could've taken you to get food, Bella. I don't know what has gotten into you since we've gotten to California but I don't like it!" My dad continued on. Demi hasn't said anything yet which is surprising because she usually tries to be the peacemaker in these situations. Tries. Hardly succeeds though.

"What's gotten into me? What about what's gotten into you guys? First you drop the bomb that we're moving to Cali, then we find out that Demi has pregnancy depression or whatever so you two just jetted off to the other side of the world and let us with our grandma like that's actually fair! You're literally yelling at me from a computer screen!" I exclaimed, and I yelped when I received a harsh pinch from my abuelita.
