Moira Granger closed the front door and leaned against it, dropping her purse on the floor. Her husband, Warren, collapsed on the bottom landing of the stairs and looked over at his wife.
"I don't think I have the strength to climb the bloody stairs . . . what a day!"
"Why does it always happen? We don't have one root canal, we have four . . . PLUS 3 emergency extractions!!! Did I miss a lecture at school when we were warned about days like this?"
"I certainly never heard a word to that effect, so . . . no, I don't think we were sufficiently informed of the possibility . . . I'll write a letter to the Dean, straight-away, asking him to add a warning lecture to the curriculum . . . that is if I can muster the strength to lift a pen."
Groaning, Warren lay back on the carpet and stared at the ceiling while his wife leaned over slowly and retrieved her purse, placing it on the hall table before turning her attention to the post box.
"Junk, junk, advert, junk, gas bill, solicitation from the Humane Society. Oh, wait, this looks interesting . . . " Flipping the thick envelope over, she saw the seal. "I think we've just been invited to a Wizard wedding, dear."
Sitting up, Warren scooted over so his wife could sit down next to him.
Pulling out the invitation, she read aloud, " It's Astoria and Draco's wedding, October 11th . . . oh my, the wedding is in Nottinghamshire, but the reception is to be at the Malfoy's in Wiltshire . . . bit of a commute, that."
"Not for Hermione and her friends, dear. We'll all 'Apparate'. Do you think there will be any other Muggles invited? "
"I don't think the Malfoys know any other Muggles but us, dear," replied Hermione's mother, as she stood and stretched. "They're still trying to re-establish themselves in Wizarding society, so I shouldn't think they've made many Muggle acquaintances."
"Well, if Molly and Arthur are there, we'll be able to have a bit of a family get-together while we're enjoying the reception . . . networking, what?!?"
"Warren, you don't 'network' with family! But I do so enjoy Molly and Arthur's company. It's such fun to try and explain and/or correct Arthur's slightly off centered information about all things Muggle and Molly does a good job of relating Wizarding ways to us, in turn."
"Yes . . . remember after the War, Molly helped Hermione explain everything to us, even though her grief for her Fred was still fresh."
Moira leaned on her husband's shoulder and sighed. "If anything had happened to our Hermione . . "
"We'd have never known, dear . . . that's why she did the 'Obliviate' charm on us . . . to try and shield us from the War, just in case anything did happen to her."
