The Other Night Fury

Chapter 1

**Hiccup's POV**

"Another win for team Hiccup and Toothless!" Shouted Gobber.

"Maybe you need to focus more on your chiefing and less on dragon racing"

"I would say your right, Astrid, but as you can see I couldn't get the joy of beating you, Milady." I replied to her. The look on her face told me I shouldn't have,

"I'm going to give you three seconds to fly away before I spike you with Stormfly, One..." "Let's go bud." I took off as fast as Toothless could fly. "...two, three, let's go stormfly." It didn't take her long before she was riding our tail, "If you apologize we can just go for a ride!" She yelled up at me. "Sounds nice to me! I'm sorry Astrid!"

I slowed Toothless down so she could fly beside us. "Look, the suns starting to set." I point to the west. "Let's land down on the cliff so we can watch it" I landed gently on the cliff and got off Toothless. I told him quietly to catch us some fish and he glided down the cliff.

"Where's Toothless going?" Astrid asked me as she landed beside me. "Oh who knows what goes through his mind, being Alpha and all." "You know you've never been a good liar." She told me as she playfully punched my arm.

"Hey, Hiccup, what I said back there, I wasn't necessarily lying. I think you should take being chief a little more seriously. I mean in a couple of months you'll be 21. Don't you think it's time to settle down and start taking on your responsibilities instead of having your mom do them?" I was a little shocked and hurt to here this.

"My mom likes doing that stuff. It gives her a purpose. I guess I'm just not ready to slow down yet. There are still lands and dragons out there to discover." I realize though she does have a point. "What's really bothering you?" She ask me. Sometimes she knows my heart before I do. "So what if I'm almost twenty-one. The twins have been 21 for a month now and they still act the same as when they were 15." "I can't believe you just tried to defend your case by comparing yourself to the twins." I laugh at this, mostly because I replay the words in my head and yep I sound stupid.

About that time Toothless shows up with to fish. "Toothless, torch" As I say the command he cooks the fish. I pick them up and hand one to Astrid. "Dinner and a sunset, how romantic."

I was about to reply with something cheesy when two dots connected. "Dinner, sunset, Odin's spear I was suppose to meet my mom for dinner at sunset at the great hall." I slap my self in the face. "Toothless," his head pokes up, "Let's go bud." I start to climb on and just before I leave I give Astrid a kiss on the cheek.

Then I take off right as the sun was finished going down.
