Steve's POV

"Surprise!" I hear everyone yell as I walk through the door... and I mean everyone. Well expect Him, thank Notch.

It was kinda sweet and embarrassing at the same time having Gabby, Alex, and Notch greet me as I walk through the same door I always do. There were also a ton of dogs in my house to fill the empty space.

We're not a large family but I'm not complaining. It just means less people come into my house for no reason. I won't count my birthday a reason though.

My first reaction was going to be walking back outside and just build a new house all together but that's not practical so I just smiled kind of awkwardly.

I walked up to Alex after Gabby was talking to me about some new player who thought a Zombie was a fellow player. A humoring story but it was cut short so I couldn't hear the end.

"I thought I asked you not to throw parties for me anymore." I whispered to Alex trying to sound grateful with annoyance but I don't really know what it came through as with her response.

"I know you're not the best actor but you coulda tried harder on the surprised look."

"I-" I interrupted myself before continuing, "you know what... I'm not even going to ask." I then turned back to Gabby to have her finish her story to me because I am actually really interested in this one. Just like many stories of hers. "So you were saying about this red head girl who was throwing healing potions at a zombie, trying to help it become a player again?" She responded also very confusingly.

"Oh yeah, where is she anyway?"

"How would I know?" I trailed off speaking as I got some milk to drink as Gabby answered,

"I would assume you'd know where Jace is, I mean what kind of father wouldn't keep track of their kid?" After hearing that I spit out my drink in a spray on the ground, making sure I didn't hit anyone with milk and was extremely shocked.

"FATHER?! Where-where did you even get the idea that I had a kid of my own?!" I exclaimed, trying to grasp this concept. It seemed when I said that Alex and Gabby looked at me very confused as I continued, "I-I mean I'm not like that, and I don't have a wife or anything. I can't really adopt in Minecraft because they're all players, but you made it sound she doesn't even have a name tag! A weird glitch!" I was BEYOND shellshocked now. I was just shocked with shock, if that's a thing.

"Steve what are you talking about? We both saw you outside the forest. I mean you ended up spotting me in the bushes spying on you." Alex asked.

"First off, that's creepy, second off, I was in the cave. There aren't any bushes there." I answered as Notch looked at me with a stern look, as if he knew exactly what was going on. But I didn't.

"Are you just saying Jace doesn't exist then? I mean you have to admit she's just like you! Terrible at fighting and strategizing, she has blue eyes, originally had brown hair. And like you pointed out, no name tag. She's definitely your daughter and you can't deny it!" Gabby exclaimed as if she was mad at me about lying even though I wasn't. Notch looked a little surprised as he responded to Gabby,

"Jace? Her name's Jace...?" Gabby looked back at me then looked at Notch to answer,

"Yeah. She's amazing, probably the best cousin I ever had!"

"She would be your only cousin." Notch stated.

"Well... yeah I guess if you want to be technical..." Gabby stuttered as she looked at her mother and I looked back at Notch. I just realize then what's going on. I walk up to him while tripping on some of the dogs trying to get through the hoard as I reach my destination.

"Is it Him?" I ask, concerned. Notch just simply nods, seeming to be deep into thought.

Notch's POV:

"Is it Him?" Steve asked me. It ringed the same bell I realized when I heard her name.

I was thinking about when I saw Jace when she was younger. Like 2 or 3. My brother and I didn't have bad ties then and I just thought it miraculous, how much she looked like her father. I guess Jace dyed her hair but she's still the same person. And I know if she saw me she'd want to accept my help. He's probably put her through too much already. I wonder how old she'd be now. Would she remember me at all or has he just erased her memory of that visit of mine? I have so many questions to ask her when we meet once again.
