Moonlit Secrets

Chapter Five

(Virgil’s  P.O.V.)

        Logan took fur samples and blood samples of my wolf form as well as
some blood and some of my hair in my normal form. Even though the one
taking the blood samples was Logan the needle still made me uncomfortable. I was hoping that by me cooperating with the experiment
of his he would help keep my furry little secret.

        “So how long have you been able to transform?” The astute side asked,
adjusting his glasses. I shrugged, “I’ve been able to since before I came here. Well you know...” Logan nodded as he scribbled something on his pad. “So I take it you can do this at will.” “Pretty much. The only thing is I can’t stay in the form for long or else I could get
stuck and the animal side can take over.” Another bobbing of his head
and more scribbling. “And how long had you been in your form up until
this point and how long until the “Animal mind” takes over.”

        I let out a heavy breath as I began to think “Well I transformed
yesterday evening after Patton brought me my plate. That was at,
umm....I think it was 10....Yea 10 and its currently 11 now so.” I tried to do the math in my head but Logan was quicker. “That would be a total of 780 minuets.” “Uhhh yea, that. And the last time I pushed myself it was almost 14 hours.” “So you were getting very close to what would be the point of no return.” Shivering slightly at the thought of the close call I nodded again. “Yea. And when you hit me and I got dazed slightly my body wanting to protect itself I guess
changed back on its own.”

        “Fascinating.” Logan said as he scribbled more notes quickly. “So,
how did this occur? Was there something that made you like this?” I
groaned internally, not really wanting to relive that part of my life.
Before I could say anything we could hear voices out in the hall.

            Logan and I exchanged a look before I turned back into my wolf form as the voice came threw the door. “Logan? You in the lab? You left your door open.”

(Narrator’s P.O.V.)

        It had almost been a full hour since Patton had gotten the text from
Logan saying he had retrieved the tank from Roman’s room. Getting a
little worried, Patton glanced at his phone before calling out. “Hey
Ro. I’m getting slightly worried about Logan. He said he was on his way down about thirty-five minuets ago. I’m gunna go and check on
him.”

        The fanciful side nodded. “I’ll come with you. Fenris has been gone
awhile as well.” With that the two made their way back towards the
Palace. Roman smiled and glanced at the slightly shorter side beside
him. “You never did answer my question earlier Pat?” “What are you
talking about kiddo.” Patton said, voice cracking slightly, “Why is
there a heart beside Mr. Sub-astute teacher’s name?” Roman watched as
his companions face grew scarlet.

        “Aye-well,” He stammers before taking a breath. “I may have feelings
for Logan.” Roman’s face lit up. “O. My. Disney. Does he know and does
he feel it too?” There was a brief look of sadness that crossed Patton’s chocolate eyes. “Well. About a week ago Logan had found me in the garden. Apparently I had slept walked and he woke me up and took me back to my room. Before we left the garden while I was still dazed with sleep I kinda kissed Logan.” “Wait! You kissed Logan?” Roman began to gush “Shh, not so loud. But yes. In a way I kissed him and I’m afraid I messed up.” Roman stopped looking at his friend. “Why do you say that?”

        Patton sighed and looked back at the young Prince. “It was a thank
you peck on the cheek and since then Logan has been acting weird. I don’t know if by me showing my feelings its freaking him out and he doesn’t return my feelings or what. He was fine when he walked me to my door but the next day he seemed a little more...distant I guess. Last night was the first time since then I was able to get him to agree to do something with me.” Roman placed his hand on the shorter side and have him a smile. “I’m sure it’s nothing. You know he’s not use to showing emotions and his feelings. He’s probably just trying to
analyze what he is feeling and try and learn how to show it.” Patton nodded. “Now come on. Lets go check on Logan and find Fenris. And we
might want to check on Virgil again as well.”
