(Narrator’s  P.O.V.)

(About a week before)

Logan had been working on one of his secret projects and things just
started to get jumbled. He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
“That doesn’t make any sense.” he sighed and looked back over his
notes before throwing them back down. “I need some air.” The Logical
side knew that he wouldn’t get anywhere with his mind in the fog it
was. He pushed away from his desk and made his way outside. The hour
was late and everyone else was asleep. The night air was cool and a bit of mist hung around it. The full moon lit the Palace garden casting odd shadows. One of these shadows was a dark hooded figure that Logan seemed to recognize.

“If you have come to ask me to join your side again the answer is
still no. I am trying my hardest to make past mistakes right and fix
the damages.” Logan spoke clear and with purpose. The figure stayed
silent and pointed past him. Turning, he sees another figure in the same hooded robe holding an unconscious Patton. His heart seemed to freeze momentarily and he could feel the odd tug on it. He balled his hands trying to stay calm. Using one hand the figure holding Patton lowered his hood. Virgil smirked.

“Come now Mr. Roboto. It’ll be fun, like old times. They still have
our rooms exactly how we left them.” Logan smirked back. The figure
in-front of him may have Anxiety’s face and signature makeup, but it
wasn’t him. “Torment, let Morality go. If you do that then I will go with you quietly.” Torment smirks and sets Patton down on a near by bench. “You have five minuets.” With that he and the still hooded figure headed off towards the tree line and Logan made his way to Patton. He studied the child-like sides sleeping form, a wave of relief that he was unharmed.

When the two darker sides were out of sight Patton began to stir,
“Hmm. Logan? What are you doing in my bedroom? Why is it so cold?”
Logan straightened his glasses and sighed. “You seemed to have slept
walked. I’m lucky I caught a glimpse of you and you didn’t get injured.” Patton sat up, his brown eyes wide behind his dark frames. “Oh my goodness. Thank you for waking me up.” Without thinking he
kissed Logan on the cheek.

Both boys blush slightly “Umm,” Logan said as he straightened his
glasses yet again “It wasn’t much. I just followed you and made sure
you got to the bench safely where I felt I could wake up up fully
without anything too bad from happening. Do yo remember anything from your dream that could help figure out why this incident occurred.”

Patton sat there for a moment thinking hard. “No, not really.
Honestly I don’t even remember going to bed. Last thing I remembered I
was on the couch in the main room watching Netflix.” Logan nodded.
“Too much television could have something to do with it.” Patton
shivered bringing Logan back to the realization at hand. “Most
important we need to get you back inside and in bed.” As if on cue
Patton let out a yawn and felt extremely tiered all of a sudden.

The two sides walked walked back into the Palace, Logan helping
support the sleepy fatherly figure. The walk was relatively silent, each wrestling with demons of their own making on the events that had
just unfolded. Once they made it to Patton’s door Logan cleared his
throat. “Umm, well here we are. Shall I help you to your bed?” Logan
felt that strange tug in his chest.

“No no. It’s fine Lo. I can manage. You need to get to your sleep as
well. I know you’ve been up late working on your little projects.”
“How..” Patton held up his hand “I can hear you when you get frustrated and when you go out for air and or a snack.” Unable to,think of a response Logan just nodded. “Please get some sleep. You of all people should know the importance of good sleep. If not for yourself but for me and Thomas.” Logan sighs “Ok. I’ll try. Get some
sleep yourself.” With that Patton closed the door. With a tear in his
eye, Logan lifted his hand to the wood and whispered “I love you Patton. I wish I knew how to say this and show this to you but I can’t. This is still foreign to me. I have to go now but I promise I will return to you swiftly and I will tell you.”
