Thomas awoke with an odd feeling of emptiness. He neither felt happy nor sad or even anxious or calm. He was just.....there for lack of better descriptors. Sighing, Thomas sat up. "Guys. A little help here." He waited a moment but nothing happened."Logan? Patton? You guys there?.... Virgil!....Roman!... This isn't funny." Still nothing. Taking in a shaky breath and releasing it again, Thomas shut his eyes and concentrated. He hadn't gone inside the Mind Palace without the aid of his sides before, but he figured he'd give it a shot. He tried to clear his mind and think of the Mind Palace that he'd been to a few times before. He opened his eyes again after a few minutes to to find himself in total darkness. No longer sitting in his bed, he was now standing in a vast empty room void of all light. "Odd." he mumbled as he went for the only door available to him. As he took a step forward, the light over head came on causing him to jump slightly. He chuckled to himself as he made it to the door. Cautiously, he held out his hand and turned the knob. It wouldn't budge. He tried it a few more times before the lights went red and a booming voice filled the room. "Identify yourself intruder!!"

"Come on guys, it's me. What gives. ?" As soon as Thomas spoke, the room went back to normal and a slightly fuzzy translucent Logan appeared before him. The figure straightened hi glasses before speaking. "Thomas what are you doing here?"

"Looking for you guys. I woke up feeling off and called for you but got nothing."

"My deepest apologies Thomas. We were in the middle of a few things. I'll be down in a moment to let you in." With that Logan blinked out of existence leaving Thomas slightly confused. A few moments later the door opened and he was greeted by Logan. "You know how dangerous it is to come here alone. Something horrible could have happened."

"Like what?" Thomas ask taking a step forward. "Like this." With that Logan turn around slowly transforming into... "Deceit!?"

"Yes, how lovely it is to see me." Without warning, the snake-like trade had a hold of Thomas. This is going to hurt. A lot." A yellow gloved hand covered Thomas' face and for once the deceitful trait wasn't lying. A white hot pain coursed through Thomas' body before nothingness. Deceit smiled as he gathered Thomas's body in his arms and disappeared in a yellow hued mist.

(???'s P.O.V.)

I could feel the all-too-familiar clamp around my heart as I saw my captor / torture in front of me. What was that stupid breathing technique again? I jumped slightly when the boy beside the one that had nearly killed me was now beside me. He had said something. I looked up at him, breathing sporadic. "Hey, I won't hurt you and neither will my friend. My name's Virgil and that's Logan. We're going to get you guys out of here but first, I want you to breathe with me. Can you do that?" I nod weakly unable to speak. He smiled. "Good. Now, breath in for four seconds. Hold your breath for seven seconds now breath out for eight seconds. Good. That's it keep it up." This time instead of saying them he did the breathing with me. It took a couple of tries before I could breathe on my own normally. He smiled, "Better?" Weakly I smiled back.

"Anxiety." I almost whispered. He looked at me slightly puzzled. "I'm Anxiety, but you can call me Shadow." He nodded showing me he understood. "I'm Anxiety as well. For a moment, I thought you were calling me by my other name." At that, it was my turn to be confused. "Who's mindscape are we in?" I asked slightly worried. At my question, the one named Logan looked worried as well. "You're in the Dark Side of Thomas Sanders mind." He sighed before adding, "If you and your companion are here, I fear we might be too late." 'Too late for what?' I wanted to ask but before I could say or do anything, I heard a familiar voice call out, "Logan?"

(Virgil's P.O.V.)

"Anxiety." Her words were barely a whisper. How does she know my name? I must have shown confusion because she added "I'm anxiety, but you can call me Shadow." That made a little sense so I nodded. "I'm Anxiety as well. For a moment I thought you were calling me by my other name." "Who's mindscape are we in?" Her question held worry in its words, causing dread to grow deep in my stomach. Before I could answer Logan spoke.

"You're in the Dark Side of Thomas Sanders mind." He sighed before adding, "If you and your companion are here, I fear we might be too late."

"Logan?!" Came a soft feminine voice from behind causing us to jump slightly. I turn to see the girl on the gurney waking up. Logan smiled sadly. "Hello again Cassidy. I hate it's under these circumstances." Her eyes went wide behind her glasses. "Wait, don't tell me what we feared has hapened?"

"I'm afraid so." Logan responded. "Hold up. You two know each other?" I asked, my confusion rising and with it my anxiety.

"From back when we call this place our  nhome. She's the main reason I wanted to get us out of here so bad and destroy most of my work." Logan said with a sigh. "Unfortunately, it seems my efforts to contain this are in vain." As he spoke, Logan undid Cassidy's binding as she responded. "What you did helped tremendously. Though, it may have been my fault this happened. I turned the device on for a moment to see the activity, and I was jumped by several hooded figures as soon as the gate was open. Almost as if they were waiting for it."

Logan open his mouth to speak, but we soon heard footsteps approaching. "Quick, lay back down." Logan commanded. Cassidy did just that while he and I strapped her back down. Logan handed me his glasses. "I know you don't like doing this but, if I were to try they'd see my injuries." I nodded and placed his glasses on my face. I concentrated to make myself look more like his darker self. I motioned Shadow to go hide with Logan as a I forced a bored look on my face and picked up one of the instruments on the table beside the bed. "I'm sorry." I mumbled as I brought it closer to her. Cassidy just nodded and let out a scream, playing along. The door slowly opened. I smirked and turned my head. "Here to observe my handiwork?" I froze when I came face-to-face with the blade of a katana.

Wow....that took longer than I had initially thought ^^" sorry guys. I had all of this chapter written out in a note pad and it disappeared. My anxiety got the best of me causing writers block for this chapter. Having to rewrite it made me second guess myself because there were things in the first version I really liked the flow of but couldn't fully remember how I wrote it. If it wasn't for LesRacoon looking over it it would have been deleted and forgotten about. Anyway, hope it was good. Until next time happy reading.
