You were never more scared in your life. You watched as he loaded the gun, standing there defenselessly. Your body was filled with fear as you stood there, waiting. It was almost as if you were waiting for your own death.

Today is your first mission, and you couldn't help but feel nervousness buzzing inside you. Even thinking about Bart doesn't make you feel better. You get dressed in your uniform, which Black Canary had made you.

Your costume wasn't fancy, but it was enough for you. You placed your mask on your face going on your way, your H/C hair bouncing up as down as you walked.
When you finally reached your destination, the rest of the team was already suited up and ready. You stood next to Bart, and couldn't help but think that he looked cute in his uniform. But, you kept these things to yourself, listening to instructions. Batman's voice was heard over the computer, giving orders.
"Impulse, Blue Beetle, and Y/S/N, you will be in the alpha squad." He spoke, and Bart smiled at his words.
You had no idea what the "Alpha Squad" was, but you assumed it meant good. Batman continued to give commands, but you tuned his voice out because you already knew what you job was.
It still felt unreal to you, how this was your life now. Being a superhero had just become normal for you. Your new life felt like a dream, and at any moment you expected to wake up, but you didn't. Bart noticed your smile, deciding to start a conversation.
"Hey, Y/N." He greeted happily.
"Hi, Bart." You replied with a smile.
Talking and being around him, made everything so much better.
"So, what do you think about our mission?" "If I'm being honest, I don't know what alpha means." You confessed with a laugh. "But other than that, I'm actually pretty nervous."
"Don't worry." Bart reassured, placing a hand on your shoulder. "There's nothing to be nervous about."
You hesitated before speaking again, letting out an airy sigh. "Alright... but I'm trusting you."
"I'm not lying." He replied, before sending you a wink. "Besides, I'd never let anything happen to you."
You both stood there for a moment, staring in to each other's eyes. His green eyes gave you butterflies in your stomach.
"Hey, lovebirds!" Blue Beetle called, bringing you both back to reality. "We have to go."
Bart glared at him when he said 'lovebirds', but didn't say anything. You found this weird, and that it basically confirmed Bart had mentioned you before.
"Come on, Y/N!" Bart cried cheerfully, intertwining you fingers with his own as he tugged you along.
You went through the Zeta Tube, towards your first mission.
