Gondo Mayit Beach located in Tambakrejo Village, Wonotirto Equality, Blitar. The beach is located not far from Tambakrejo Beach has a name that sounds very sinister in the ear: Gondo Mayit Beach. Gondo Mayit Beach in the Indonesian language means the beach smells corpses, spooky and full of mystery and myth. The name of this spooky beach is said to have been once found many bodies lying on this beach, causing an unpleasant odor. Uniquely, also known as genuine gondo mayit oil is a kind of oil which is said to have strength strengthen the legacy, ward off witchcraft, and various other sacred properties so often used in various padepokan.
To get to this beach, we have to use a private vehicle because it can not be found public transportation that connects this village with the city center. The location of Pasetran Gondo Mayit Beach is just behind the hill where Tambak Rejo Beach is located. The visitors usually visit Tambak Rejo Beach first because this is where the parking area of the vehicle is located for both beach. From the city of Blitar, Tambakrejo Beach is only about 35 kilometers. The trip can be done easily to Kademangan via Trisula Street and further up to Wonotirto. From downtown Blitar to this beach takes about 40 - 60 minutes. The route taken from Blitar city is as follows: Blitar City - Kademangan - Suruh Wadang - Tambakrejo.
From the parking area of Tambak Rejo Beach, visitors can continue their journey on foot to Gondo Mayit Beach. To get to Gondo Mayit Beach, visitors must walk up the hill that separates this beach with Tambak Rejo Beach first. On top of the hill, there is a tomb that supposedly, according to local people, is the residence of this coast guard. On top of the hill, the tourists can enjoy the view of the Indonesia Ocean spread out in front of the eyes. Even if you have to climb the hill, do not be afraid of tired and unable to continue the journey because along the path, you will be able to find some places to rest and snacks snacks and drinks.
The hill to Gondo Beach Mayit is a bit steep. It would be better if you use thick and strong shoes or sandals because this is a rocky hill so sharp corners can hurt your feet. Be careful in climbing and downhill to avoid getting hurt. You only take 15 minutes to climb this hill. You can also go to this beach without the need to visit Tambak Rejo Beach. From Blitar town, find your way to Kademangan and Tulungagung, you can use help from map, Google Maps, or signpost. Arriving at the junction of the Kademangan bridge, take the left bend and follow the sign-up board to Tambak Rejo. At the last intersection approach Pantai Rejo Beach, turn left. After driving about a kilometer, enter the main road to the village on the right side of the road. Follow the path inside this village to find a signpost to Pasetran Gondo Mayit Beach. If you start to get confused in searching for directions in this area, you can always ask for help from the villagers. It is important to note that most tourists prefer to use the route to Tambak Rejo Beach first because the road is more smooth and good, although somewhat narrow. The price of admission is about Rp. 3.000/person.
Because not too many tourists who come to this beach, the beach is still practically clean, natural, beautiful, and not contaminated waste. The clear blue waters of the glistening will attract anyone's heart to swim in them. When the water recedes, you will be able to see the colorful coastal organisms. The view of the afternoon with the sun that shone on the orange yellow afternoon sky will make this beach more beautiful.
On the beach, no coral reefs are large, sharp, and dangerous so visitors can play water or swim in it without fear of being knocked. However, you must be done with great care because the waves crashing the famous beaches are great. The waves even inspire people to learn surf on this beach.
Gondo Mayit Beach is also a mystical beach. Apart from its creepy origins, it is said that on this beach there is also a guesthouse which is used as a stopover place by the ruler of the southern coast of Nyi Roro Kidul.
At Gondo Mayit Beach, not many shop stalls sell food for the visitors. Therefore, the tourists who want a more varied meal should buy first at Tambak Rejo Beach.
