Baekhyun's mother signed for a release of only one day. Her wish was for the change of scenery to bring him back. She missed her son. She missed him dearly. But she knew this would take time, and she was willing to wait for him.
He dressed in skinny jeans that no longer clung to his body, but hung around his frame loosely. They were jeans that use to fit him back then. He dressed in a baggy long sleeved sweatshirt — the scent of it bringing back memories of him.
As he sat on his bed, waiting for his mother to return, he pressed the overly long sleeve to his face and inhaled the addictive scent that caused tears to pool in his eyes before trickling over.
His mother's efforts were in vain. He was broken.
No one could fix something when there were pieces missing. It just simply wouldn't work like before.
And so his mother came for him, they walked to her car, and she promised to take him somewhere nice for lunch.
But the moment that place was far enough away — far enough that they couldn't catch him, he would make his escape.
And he didn't care how he did it.
So quietly, Baekhyun whispered, "Can I paint you again?"
