Ellery was asleep. She looked peaceful lying amongst the bed sheets.

Jace's bedsheets.

Jace sighed and rubbed his eyes. He checked his watch for the 10th time. It had only been an hour.

The doctor was a brown haired female. She was only young, she didn't have much experience, but her skills made up for it. She had checked Ellery over thoroughly. Jace was glad to hear that Ellery had mainly suffered surface wounds, apart from where the knife had been dragged across her body. She needed stitches for that.

She was battered and bruised. She was still in the clothes she had been attacked in and she was covered in blood. Jace wanted to wait until she woke up to clean her up. He didn't think she'd appreciate being touched privately when she was unconscious, especially after what had happened.

"What's going on over there?" Jace said. He was on the phone to Carson.

"They're all freaking out," Carson said. "She was on the phone to Cameron and all he heard was a scream before he dropped the phone and left with Trent."

Jace sighed. "Okay."

"We have to tell them."

"We will, when she is awake and cleaned up. They'll only freak more if they see her in the state she is now."

"So we're going to let them search for the sister while we know exactly where she is and how she is doing?" Carson said.

"That's exactly what we're going to do," Jace said sternly. "Have you got a problem with that, Carson?"

Carson sighed. "No."

"Good," Jace said and he looked at Ellery when she gasped. "I'll call you back." Jace hung up and stood up from the chair he had been sitting in for the past hour.

Ellery screamed.

"Ellery!" Jace shouted and rushed over to her side. "Ellery!"

Ellery screamed again and started to toss and turn.

"No!" She yelled. "No! Stop!"

"Ellery, wake up!" Jace shouted and touched Ellery's arm. Immediately she woke up and looked up at Jace with wide eyes.

"You shocked me," she gasped and looked at Jace's hand that was on her arm.

Jace froze. "What?"

"You're shocking me!" Ellery said.

"You can feel tha-"

"What happened?" Ellery panicked and looked around frantically. "Oh my god, the g-guys... you! Y-you- oh my god, I think I'm going to be sick."

Ellery leaned over the bed just as Jace grabbed a bin and Ellery groaned as she puked into it.

"I think that'll be the hangover coming early," Jace said and passed Ellery a cloth to wipe her mouth.

Ellery groaned and rubbed her eyes. "What happened? After you... after you came."

"You fainted," Jace said, "probably from shock. We have a doctor that lives here, she took care of you."

"It wasn't from shock," Ellery sighed. "I forgot to take my tablets."

Jace nodded and frowned at Ellery. She seemed shook up and weak, but Jace was surprised she was handling herself as well as she was.

"Are you okay?" Jace asked slowly.

Ellery looked up at Jace and then quickly looked away to inspect her injuries. "More scars," she sighed.
