The Secret of the Missing Sky

Chapter 1

Jordan Miller is a football player at Long Wood Academy high school. His girlfriend is a cheerleader named Vanessa Paterson. They have been dating for 1 year. One summer afternoon Jordan was walking on Pearl Beach right by his house. He saw a beautiful women in a light green bikini. So he watched her, he thought he know every one who lived by the beach. It wasn't his girlfriend Vanessa because she was in Bora Bora with her family for 5 more days. It wasn't any of her friends. It's not any of his friends or family because they would have been walking from the other way. So he started walking up to her to take a closer look. As he was walking up to her, he realized that it was Natalie Wilson a girl from Long Wood Academy, who was a track star and in his grade. She was dating Austin Davidson a badminton player at the school. They have been dating for less then a year. Jordan and Natalie grow up knowing each other from elementary to now. Natalie: " Hey Jordan." Jordan: " Hey Natalie, how are you?" Natalie: " I'm good, how are you?" Jordan: " I'm good, so where is Austin?" Natalie: "Austin is at a badminton tournament." (she seemed annoyed when she said badminton tournament) so where is Vanessa, it looks like a pretty place?" Jordan: "Vanessa is in Bora Bora with her family, so what are you doing here, don't you live 21 miles away. " Natalie: "My mom got a new job, so we moved 5 house down from here, I like to coming out here to the beach before the sun set starts." Jordan:" Oh, Yea the sun set is very pretty, When Vanessa isn't here I like to watch the sunset, So do you want to sit down and watch it together." Natalie: " Yea ok." Then they became silent while they were in aw with the sky. The yellow ball of fire changed to hues of orange, and then almost tangerine. It merged with the sky, like juice-mix dissolving in a glass of water. The clouds were cotton-candy, as though they blushed at the warm touch of the sun. Silhouettes of birds flew home across a sky that was now magenta; and the sun was half into the water, but its reflection in the sea made it look complete. The mauve of the dusky sky intensified, and in just a while, the biggest star had set, giving way to a thousand others. Natalie: "Wow when we lived on Chestnut Street you could never see the sunset like this there."
Jordan:" Yea, it is beautiful here when the sunset hits the water." Natalie: " Yea. ( She looked done at her phone and saw that it was 7:58 o'clock.) Well I better get going, I have a date with Austin and should be getting ready soon but it was nice seeing you again." Jordan ( Jordan hugs Natalie):" Yea it was nice seeing you too and not in school." ( They both start walking back to there houses, Jordan stops and turn around to watch Natalie walk away, When Natalie is to far for him to see her, he starts walking again.) Jordan:"Wow she is looking good." ( He said to himself.) Then he looks down and see what time it is and realizing that Vanessa is going to FaceTime him soon. As Jordan was approaching his house he saw his best friend Brad James. Brad James lives right next door, plays football with him at school and he is dating Gabrielle Rose who was on the cheerleading team. Brad:" Yo, Jordan, are you going to football camp for the children tomorrow at 10:30?" Jordan: " Yea Brad I am going, how about you?" Brad:" Yea I am going, we should drive in together." Jordan: " Yea, ( Jordan's phone rings, He looks down and sees Vanessa name popped up.) Brad,
I need to take this. I will see you tomorrow." Brad:" Ok see you tomorrow." (When Jordan got to the kitchen he answer the call.) Jordan: " Hey Vanessa how your vacation going?" Venessa:" Everything is good so why did you not answer my phone right away?" (Jordan enters his room and sits in his bed.) Jordan:" I was just in the kitchen and my phone is on vibrate, so I did not hear it ringing." Vanessa: " Oh ok, so what did you do today, nothing because you miss me.( She laughed on the phone) Jordan:" No,I was just hanging out with Brad then came home for dinner." Jordan know that if he told Vanessa he saw Natalie on the beach, she would suspect something is going on, even though nothing is.) The couple talked for an hour then Vanessa had to go eat dinner. Jordan wanted to investigate why Natalie rallied her eyes when she was talking about Austin. He looked on her Instagram and saw that she follows Vanessa and don't seem anything wrong with her relationship. Jordan:" Maybe they got in a fight today before he went to his badminton tournament." Jordan figured that he solved the problem of why Natalie rolled her eyes today. Jordan looked at the clock. It was 10:00, Jordan decided to go to bed.
