"Shit." He said as he realized the time.

I'm going to be late for work.

He lifted Hitomi from himself and left her on the couch.

Well I can't particularly leave her alone, either.

He shakes her, in hopes that she will wake up.

"Papa?" She rubs her eyes and yawns.

"Get ready, I'm taking you to work." He said.

"Okay!" She smiled as she followed him.

He began undressing himself until he noticed she was behind him.

"I'm going to take a shower, so do you mind?" He said.

"Mama and I take showers together." She said holding her small red towel.

"That's because you and mama have the same body pa-" He stopped himself remembering that's she's only 6.

"Well I'm not mama, so we can't take showers together." He said shutting the door behind him and locking it.

After 15 minutes, he walked out to see her playing with the cat.

"Get in the shower, I'm sure you know how to." He said.

"Yes!" She ran into the shower.

Getting himself ready, he turns around to see her dripping water & wrapped up in a towel.

"Do you have any clothes?" He said.

"They're in my suitcase." She replied.

He walked over to her suitcase that had been packed very horribly.

Now what should she wear?

He ended up picking a small white dress.

"Alright, you change into that and I'll wait outside."

She nodded.

He walked into his kitchen now realizing he had to make breakfast for two.

Memories flashed in his head, when he would wake up to the sound of her humming her favorite song and the smell of pancakes or whatever she was making filled the air.

It was what kept him going.

What do 6 year olds like?

He looked through the counters looking for pancake mix.

"Papa!" He heard as he sighed and walked into the room.

"What happened?" He began to laugh at her head stuck at the beginning of the dress.

"You have to unbutton it first." He did it for her as the dress slid in perfectly.

"My hair." She handed him a brush.

"What's this for?"

"To brush my hair."

"Ah, right." He wondered if this was a regular for Hinata.

But why would she suddenly just leave their daughter here?

He sat down on the bed as she stood in between his legs.

"Sasuke-kun, be gentle." Hinata laughed nervously.

"I am! It's your hair that's too tangled!" He said.

He smiled at the memory but thanks to her, he was able to brush with ease.

"Pick one." She lifted her small hands up with hair pins.

He examined them and chose a nice one with a flower on it.

She smiled and placed it on herself like Hinata showed her before.

"Mama might not always be here, so I need to know that you can take care of yourself, Hitomi." She remembered her mother's words and that smile of hers.

"Mama." Her eyes began to fill with tears.

She began to cry uncontrollably.

"Hitomi?" He said.

What's gotten into her all of a sudden?

I can't believe I'm doing this.

"Come here." He held his arms out as she ran into them.

"Papa." She snuggles her head into his chest.

"Papa, I miss mama." She said.

He stood silent for so long.

"Me too."
