I gave myself a final glance over in the mirror before ruffling my tousled dark brown hair one last time. Monday. The first day  back to school. Usually were everybody pretends they had an amazing summer and gets hold of any gossip they can. For me it's just what I do everyday, go in don't speak and be me. Also I hate Mondays.

"Melissa hurry up" my mum shouted from the stair case.
"Coming!" I quickly replied before applying a little powder and lip gloss to my face. I hurry downstairs and into the car.

Ugh. School. I can't believe I am in this dump again. I walked down the corridor and into my class.
"Okay guys summers over back to work" Miss Winters said earning sighs and eye rolls from the class. "Textbooks out page 33...The laws of physics..."

I hated physics more ran anything, it was the only lesson I had to graft to get straight A's. I know that sounds really vain and obnoxious of me but it was true. Oh and also this year Miss Winters had decided to sit me next to Leon Black. Leon Black was "that boy". The boy your mom warned you about and the boy that all the girls drooled over and I'm not going to say that I don't find him attractive but he's him and I'm well... Me.

"Psst... Have you got a spare pen" Of course it was the first day back and he needed a pen.
"Uh.. Yeah sure" I hesitantly replied keeping my gaze low at all times. He grinned at me making my whole face go beetroot red.
"Front table, the guy's head"
"What.." And before I knew it Leon grabbed my arm and snatched my hair tie, twanging it at the guy's head. He pulled me down with him as the guy looked around in horror and confusion. It was pretty funny. Miss Winters came marching to the back signing to pink slips

"Mr Black, Miss Summers, detention" she handed the pink slip over to us and before I could protest the bell rang. Great, could this day get any worse.
"Thanks a lot Leon" I mumbled. Suddenly a hand grabbed my wrist and spun me around. Leon.
"You were saying Summers.." He smirked flashing his hazel eyes at me. Crap he heard.
"Nothing... I mean.. Uh.. I was jus..." I fumbled for words and quickly walked out the class room. What an amazing first day back.
