Chapter 3:

Hazel pov

I couldn't sleep all night. Not just because I slept all day yesterday. I was sad about the move. And nervous about what I would say to my friends. Should I act normal? Should I act sad? The more I thought about it, the more tears gathered in my eyes. If I had a phone, this would be much easier. I would type "I'm moving" and a sad face. Simple as that. Man, I really need a phone. Have you ever heard of a 16 year old without a phone? Well, anyway I better get downstairs now, my parents are waiting.

...

When I get to school, my friends greet me at my locker.

"Hey Hazel! What's wrong? You look sad." Said Haley, my best friend.

"Look guys" I say as I turn around to face Haley and Ashley. "I have to tell you something important." I pause, waiting to see if they react. "I'm moving to Los Angeles"

They gasp and tears well up in all our eyes. We all hug and leave to go to first period. Moving really stinks.

After first period, Kelley, walked up to me. "So I heard you're moving." She said with a smirk on her face. Kelley and I were never really friends. In facet, we weren't friends at all. She used to bully me in middle school. She knew I wasn't happy about moving so now she is rubbing it in my face. After she said that, only one question cam to my mind, "how did she know I was moving?"

"Whatever, it's none of your business." I say waking off.

"I'm happy you're leaving Hazel, no one ever liked you anyway!" She called after me, and that comment made me feel like crying.

She is the one thing I am not going to miss.
