*A couple days later*

Hazel's pov:

"Hazel, you ready to leave?" I heard my mom call to me from the base of the stairs.

I looked up at Haley and Ashley and we all became teary-eyed. Without words, we went into a group hug and I held on as tightly as possible. When we parted I sighed a long, sad sigh.

"I love you guys, and I will miss you so much." I choked out.

"We will miss you so much. Call us with your home phone when you can, and tell us what the beach is like and if you make any new friends and..." Haley's voice died out.

"Hazel, we have to leave now." my mom said. Now standing in the doorway of my room.

"Bye Hazel." Said Haley and Ashley together as they left.

"Bye." I whispered, knowing they didn't hear me.

I said bye to not only them but to my house, to Idaho, and to my old life.

After getting my luggage into the car and the last of my boxes of things into the moving truck, we began our long drive to Los Angeles, California.

"Mom," I grumped, "if I had a phone right now, this drive wouldn't be so boring."

My mom didn't even acknowledge what I said.

"Whatever." I said facing the window.

I figured sleep would make the drive faster. I shut my eyes and eventually fell asleep.

"Hazel, Hazel wake up." Kaleb said shaking my shoulder.

"What?" I groaned, rubbing my eyes.

"We're here!" he said.

"Where again?" I said confused.

"We are in Los Angeles, California in the driveway of our new house." He said slowly as if I were a child.

My eyes widened. I quickly unbuckled and sped out of the car and into our new green yard. The air smelled salty and the sky was a light, cheery blue. Birds that flew by our new house practically glowed in the late afternoon sun. It is big. Really big. Our house is all white like all the other houses in the neighborhood, but it's not a cookie-cutter house. It definitely has character.

I race into the house and run up the stairs to the loft. There are four doors. I open one and it leads me into the perfect bedroom. There are two windows that the light comes into and drapes across my floor like two orange carpets. My floor is a light-colored hard wood and my walls are a pretty light blue that I'll probably keep the same. The least I can say is my room is perfect. There is a bathroom connected to my room and it has pink walls with white tiles and a white counter.

I ran downstairs, grabbed my bags and a box that said, "Hazel's stuff" on the side of it and made my way back to my room to start unpacking.
