Alex
"Leave if you want to!" She yells at me before she storms off upstairs and slams the door shut.
I run my hand through my hair and grab my keys from the table. I look up at the bedroom before I shut the front door close, the sound resonating around the house.
Never did I think that that would be the last time I'll see my wife.
My eyes flutter open at the sound of the alarm clock on my bedside table. I open my eyes as the sun's rays hit my face. I rub the sleep off of my eyes and stare at the ceiling. I release a sigh as the memory of that awful night invades my dreams once again. I shake the thought away and climbed out of bed, proceeding to complete my morning routine.
After an hour of working out, I make myself coffee and drink it by the floor length windows of my Liverpool penthouse. Looking through the window, I admired the bright blue sky that reminded me of a pair of bright blue eyes. I let myself relish in the memory, closing my eyes trying to put together fragments of her in my mind. I let out a breath and tried to continue with my day.
It was the usual drill every single day. I wake up, do my morning routine, go kill it at training and go party after a successful match and then come back to the darkness of my house which I don't even consider as home. My home was in somebody's arms and I haven't felt at home for a very long time. I've managed to fight off the awful feeling of loneliness by pushing myself hard in the field, working it off. It made me make a bigger name for myself and become a very important player in my club, but I don't know who I'm doing it for anymore.
"Good job, Chambo! We're going to kill it tomorrow!" Mo---my teammate---tells me, patting my back as he passes by me. "Yeah, man." I say. "See you tomorrow then." I say as I make my way to my car. I drove my car through the busy streets along with the drivers who were probably rushing to get home to their families. I wish it was the same for me.
I lean on my chair as I get stuck on traffic. I switch the channel off my car radio and turned on some music. I closed my eyes as I waited for the first song to play and my heart ached a bit when it did. Her voice was the first thing I heard when the Little Mix song played. I wanted to switch the song, but I couldn't bring myself to do so. Because I really didn't want to do it all.
I reach my floor and unlock the door, dropping my things on the floor. After turning the lights on, I make my way to the kitchen to get a drink from the fridge. I take it to the living room, slumping on the couch and resting my feet on the coffee table. I look around me, releasing a sigh afterwards. I think my mam was right. This was a really big place for someone who lives alone, but I've been living here for nearly three years so why bother.
I grab the remote and turn the TV on, scrolling through the channels. I was about to turn it off when a certain channel caught my attention. Immediately, my heart raced and then stopped.
"Little Mix has finally come out of hiding after almost three years. After their long break, the girl group is now ready as ever to make their comeback and break some records!"
She's back?
Host: So I am here with Little Mix, who is about to make their big comeback! How are you girls?
The camera pans to the girls, amd there she is.
Leigh: We're alright. Just really excited for our comeback.
Jade: Yeah, we've been gone for long enough and we have a lot in store for you guys.
Jesy: And we can't wait to reveal it to our loyal little mixers.
Perrie: It's just really good to be back.
