Perrie
"Alex left." I say as I stand in front Jade's doorstep. "Aww, Pez. Come in." Jade says, ushering me inside her home. "He left, Jade." I say as she engulfs me in a hug, crying on her shoulder. "I'm sure he's not gone for good, Pez." She says, rubbing my back. I pull back and wipe the tears from my eyes. "I told him to leave, Jade. I told him to leave and he left. He's probably taking the transfer offer right this minute." I say, holding in my tears.
"Aww, Pez. It's alright." She says, hugging me again. "I knew this would happen. I knew our careers would take its toll on us somehow." I say. "Shh. I'll call the girls in, okay?" She says, I sit on the couch and wipe my tears away, breathing a deep breath. "I booked a flight." I say, making Jade turn around to face me. "You can't run away, Pez." Jade says, walking towards me and taking my hand in hers.
"I'm not running away. It's just a week, just to breathe." I say, assuring her. She looks at me, studying me and then nods her head at me. I leave the following morning and spent a week in France to think and to just breathe. I was about to go back when the cheating rumors started to circulate and I felt my heart break into a million tiny pieces. That's when I decided to stay.
Maybe running away wasn't so bad after all.
"Please Pez! Pleaaaaase!" Leigh kneels in front of me and hugs my knees as she tries to persuade me. "Why do I have to be the to do it?" I whine, stomping my feet. "Because we still have to record, and you're already done. And you're the only one he trusts!" Leigh says, standing up. "Why can't your boyfriend pick your dog up?" I say, still very disturbed that Leigh is making me pick her dog up from the groomers.
"He's training. Please, Pez. Please. I promise, I'll babysit Feyre." She says, hugging my arm. I roll my eyes and release a sigh. "Fine." I say, making her squeal and jump up. "You better babysit my kid when I need you too." I mumble as I grab my keys from the table and walk out. Living alone for nearly three years really helped me to become independent, especially learning how to drive. And I must say, I'm a much better driver than Leigh will ever be.
I drive to the groomers and park my car just in front of the shop. The desk lady smiles at me as I open the door, the bell chiming in. "Hi I'm here to pick up Harvey. I have certification from Ms. Leigh Anne Pinnock." I say, showing her my phone. "I'll have your ID please." She says. I smile at her as I fish out my ID from my wallet and hand it out to her.
I place my hands in my pocket and look around, amused at the small dogs for sale by the window and the cute chew toys on the shelves. I hear the door bell chime in again but I didn't really pay attention. "Didn't expect to see you here." I jump at the sound of the voice behind me. I turned around and stepped back at the closeness of our bodies, my heart racing fast. "Alex." I breathed out.
"Hi." He says, placing his hands on his pockets. He was staring at me, his brown doe eyes meeting my blue orbs. "Hi." I say, staring back at him. My heart starts to beat really fast again, like it was about to burst out of my chest. "Hi." He says again before he pulls me in for a tight hug. My feet was stuck to the ground as he wrapped his arms around me, inhaling my scent as he pulled me close. I was in shock, pinning my hands to my side because I knew that once I let myself hug him I won't ever want to let go.
But I can't let myself do that. I can't let myself get hurt again.
"I'm sorry. I just really wanted to do that." He says, pulling back and taking a step back. My heart starts to beat in a normal comfortable pace as he trails his hand down my arm. "Ehm, it-it's okay." I say, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "How are you?" He asks, still looking at me intently as if I'll disappear once he blinks. "I'm alright." I say, trying to sound as calm and civil as possible. "You?" I ask him.
