Chapter 9

   "Y/N!" Yuzuru said. I turned around and waved to him. He walked over to me and hugged me.

   "What?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled.

   "Nothing. I just wanted to say hi," he said. I rolled my eyes and turned around. I started to walk away when Yuzuru grabbed my wrist.

   "What?" I asked, turning around and looking at him. He smiled.

   "Where are you going?" He asked. I raised my eyebrow.

   "Why do you want to know?" I asked. He shrugged and let go of my wrist. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk towards the door. I heard him stomp towards me. I sighed and turned around.

   "Where are you going?" He asked. I took a deep breath in to let my anger cool down

   "I'm going somewhere with my friend. Why?" I asked. He frowned and cocked his head.

   "Which friend?" He asked, stepping closer to me. I frowned and backed away a little.

   "A friend that you don't  know..." I said, my voice trailing off. He stepped closer. I stepped back.

   "Who?" He asked. He stepped closer to me, and I stepped back again. I stepped back until I hit a wall. Yuzuru went closer and put his hand on the wall, blocking me.

   "Just a friend," I said quietly. He frowned and leaned in close to me.

   "Who?" He said again, anger rising in his voice. My eyes widened, and I looked at the floor.

   "Nicole," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. He registered the name and put his hand down.

   "Okay then," he said, and walked away. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I walked out to my car and pulled out my phone. I dialed Nicole's number and put the phone up to my ear.

   "Hello?" Nicole asked. I smiled.

   "Hello! Where do you want to go?" I asked her. She was silent for a second.

   "Um, can we go to the park?" She asked.

   "Sure," I said. She hung up, and I got in my car. I drove out of the parking lot and to the park. When i got there, I saw Nicole waving at me. I smiled and got out of my car. She went up to me and hugged me.

   "Hello!" She said, letting go of me and smiling. I smiled back.

   "Hello," I said. She smiled.

   "Oh yeah, there was a call from a hospital," she said. I raised my eyebrow.

   "What did they say?" I asked. 

   "They said they wanted to talk to you," she said. I nodded. They must have called our home phone.

   "Um, I'll just call them back later," I said. She smiled and nodded. We walked around the park for a little bit, catching up on stuff, because I was almost never home. 

   "So, how are you and Yuzuru? Are you dating now?" She asked. I shoved her playfully and shook my head.

   "No! We're just friends!" I said. She rolled her eyes.

   "All couples start out as 'friends'," she said. I rolled my eyes again.

   "Well, we're going to stay as friends," I said. She sighed and shook her head. I did the same. We walked in silence after that.

   "Well, bye, Y/N. See you later!" She said. I waved to her and smiled. She smiled back. I went back the rink and sat down at the bench. Pooh was there, too. I pet his head and smiled. I looked at the rink and saw Yuzuru and Javier practicing. Javier jumped, spun, and fell. I winced.

   "You should be more careful," I yelled. He looked at me and rolled his eyes. I stuck my tongue out at him. Yuzuru laughed and skated over to me.

   "So, was it fun? He asked. I nodded.

   "Yeah! Why?" I asked. He shrugged. Javier came over to us and grinned.

   "He's just jealous that he didn't get to spend time with you," he said. Yuzuru shoved him and started yelling in Japanese. I giggled and Yuzuru looked at me.

   "I'm not jealous!" He said. I nodded.

   "I know. Why would you be jealous?" I said. Yuzuru looked at Javier while pointing to me.

   "See!" He said. Javier rolled his eyes and went back to practicing. I sighed, and Yuzuru went over to Javier. I went and sat back down. Javier jumped and fell again. This time, though, he landed weirdly on his foot. My eyes widened as he clutched his ankle and groaned. I rushed onto the ice.

   "Are you okay?" I asked. He shook his head. I looked closely at his ankle. Yup, he sprained it. I hurried and went to get a first aid kit. I went back and opened the kit. I grabbed the bandages and started to wrap his ankle up in the bandages. Yuzuru called an ambulance. The ambulance came and got Javier in the ambulance,

   "Good job. The wrapping really reduced the swelling," a nurse said to me. I smiled.

   "Thank you," I said. She smiled and got in the ambulance with Javier. Yuzuru sighed and put his hand on my shoulder.

   "He'll be okay," he said. I looked at him and nodded. We went back in the rink and he continued to practice. When it was time for me to go home, I did. I went back to the apartment and saw Niclole on the couch.

   "Hello," I said. She turned and saw me. She smiled at me and stood up. She was about to speak when the phone rang. I raised my eyebrow and went over to the phone. I picked it up and put the phone up to my ear.

   "Hello?" I said. 

   "Hello? Is this Y/N L/N?" The person asked.

   "Yes," I said hesitantly.

   "Okay. Well, you've been promoted to the Calvary Hospital in New York City. We really hope hou will accept this offer. We have seen your abilities in the rink, and we want you to work here. If you want more information, we will send you an email concerning all the details. Thank you," the person said, and hung up. I stood there in shock.

   "What?" Nicole asked. I looked at her.

   "I've been promoted," I said. Her eyes widened.

   "Where?!" She ssked rather loudly. I grinned.

   "The Calvary Hospital in New York!" I said, jumping up and down. We were on the first floor, so no one was beneath us. Nicole smiled and hugged me.

   "Good job!" She said. I laughed and hugged ber back. Then I froze.

   What about Yuzu? I thought.
