Description:

Seven young boys, trained to be assassins, cold-blooded contract killers. They owe their lives, their very existence to the Master and Mistress who had saved them from the streets and certain death.

Do not trust anyone, do not love, do not have friends, do not give anyone anything to hold against you. Those were the Rules. Kill swiftly, efficiently, leave no evidence unless instructed otherwise.

But what happens when one of them finds out all is not what it seems? That he had been lied to all his life?

Now, now. I know that most of the viewers of this compilation are girls, and just like me, you probably don't read that many books with male MCs (if at all), but if your tastes are anything like mine at all—and you can tell what mine are from all the mini-reviews I write underneath the story descriptions—then you'll love this story.

There is no cultivation or harems; no stupid cannon fodder villains; no repetitive plot points. It's more of an actual novel (completed at 50 chapters) than the mostly draggy xianxia web novels (1000+ chapters) that I usually recommend. Even the way it's thought out separates it from regular web novels; the setting is given more details.

I absolutely love the seven brothers. They each have their own kind of charm and bring something to the story. And Xuèlèi, even though he's our MC, is the most mysterious out of all of them, and I can't help fangirling as I read. The Female Lead is also quite likable. She's sweet, intelligent, and funny. The moments between them were so cute; through her, we learned even more about him.

The conclusion of the story came quick and tied up everything in a satisfying way (at least to me). For those of you who have been looking for completed novels, this one is great to binge-read; you'll fly right through it.

The author also has this book up on Tapas. I urge you to also read it on there; all the chapters are free. Some Wattpad authors post their book on Tapas, too, and if they become popular enough, they might get an offer to have it turned into a comic. A couple of my favorite Wattpad-to-Tapas books (Three Lifetimes and Zhulong: Ice and Fire) got one. It's amazing to see the characters come to life right in front of us. Who knows, if this book gets enough reads and likes, maybe it will capture the attention of a comic artist, too. I'd really love to see visuals of these seven good-looking assassins in action.
