Chapter 39

1 week later of telling the story of what happened*

Beth had explained everything to her brother and the rest her family the next day. A bunch of weight had been lifted off her shoulders. My mom was a mess when I got home, explaining how she almost called the cops when she didn't find me in the morning or night.I lied and said I lost track of time and fell asleep in the park. She didn't need anymore to stress about, it's bad enough she's trying to keep herself together after finding out what my stupid dad did. Jc still doesn't know what happened and I don't plan on him finding out. Beth and I have gotten closer this past week although she had two new bruises when we met up at Starbucks. Lately I've been suspicious about Jc, how his room and clothing is starting to dissapear and stuff being packed. I don't want to be the those girlfriends who overthinks everything either. I was brought out of my thoughts with the text tone of my phone. Going off every second, I looked down to see it was a group message.

KIAN: BRYANNAAAAA!

CONNOR - Frantastic Monday! I mentioned you in my newest video Bryanna :)

RICKY - Guuuuurrl! We miss you <3

SAM- Where's my beatiful bryanna at

TREVOR- When we see each other again we MUST do a public prank!

KIAN - No one wants to do a public prank with you Trevor!

RICKY - Stop being so mean kian!

CONNOR - LOL!

SAM - I'm hungry

RICKY - When aren't you Sam?

TREVOR - Did we forgot about Bryanna? SPAM!!

KIAN - BRYANNAAAAAAAA!!!

SAM- BRE BRE BRE FOOD

RICKY- BRYANNAAA!!! :D

CONNOR - Con da bon.

TREVOR - lol what??

I grabbed my stomach as I double-over laughing. I haven't even replied and they continued to carry on with their own conversation. I quickly sent out a tweet saying, "I miss the other 6/7 of O2L <3" Within a second I knew they got the notification as my phone blew up with more texts. Plugging my phone into the charger I strutted over to my bathroom. I changed and went downstairs to grab a glass of cold water.I spotted my mom sitting on the sofa, "Hey mom, you okay?"

She looked up and I saw the familiar red puffy eyes, "Your dad called."I tightly shut my eyes and looked the other way. It stings my heart everytime I'm reminded and I can't help but want to break down. I gave her a hug and walked out of the living room, to the kitchen. I sat down at the dining table and put my head on my hands. Why did he have to do this? Tear our small family apart. I never asked for anything more, I was grateful for just us three together. He lied to me. He betrayed me. He hurt my mother. "I'm sorry." Never once did he dare to call me this past month while I was spending my summer in california. Nor did he even know I was in California..

Chapter 40

I ended the FaceTime with Jasmine and Lucy her cousin and thought about how much I actually miss them. Jasmine ended up staying in California with her cousin Lucy for a little bit longer than she thought. Sadly none of my best friends have time over the phone. I heard voices from downstairs and decided to check it out. As I opened my door, a male voice caught my attention, followed by my mom's laughter. Odd? I turned the corner and walked down the curve of the stairs. I saw a little girl eating a cookie and my mom sitting at the table with a man. Then it rang a bell."David? Mia?" The first week I had arrived at California I had gone to the beach by myself.Played with a little girl named Mia. Her dad said they were on vacation. Sound familiar?My mom looked up quite surprised, "Bryanna honey excuse me?"

"Do you remember me? That one day at the beach!" I almost cheered.

"You were the young lady who played in the water with my daughter, correct?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Yes her name is Mia. I rememberYou. You said you lived in San Antonio and I agreed. What are you doing here?" My mom quickly looked over at him and he closed his mouth right when we opened it up to speak."May I interrupt?" My mom quickly chimed in."When I was in California I went to the beach and meet them for the first time. What are they doing here?" I asked. I felt a pull on my leg and I looked down, Mia staring back up at me smiling."Um we can discuss this later.. David I'll see you later." She got up and hugged him, hugging Mia also."I guess so, goodbye? Nice seeing you again" I smiled.

They left, my mom also deciding to leave to the store, leaving me alone.

I was glad I saw them again.But why were they at my house?
