CHAPTER 6

 KINGDOM OF BONHEUR

It was currently July 3rd, a day before Veronica Lansdrake's 16th birthday.

All of the citizens of Bonheur has been anticipating this day for a long time, they have all witnessed this young lass grow up and her accomplishments was known far and wide, they couldn't help but anticipate what kind of promising future will she have.

She became the idol of all the young maidens in the kingdom, she acquires a beauty that can topple down countries yet she never became arrogant, she has skills in the arts of swordsmanship, archery and strategy formation which is said to be on par to her father yet no one ever heard her brazenly claim a title, she grew up as a fine young lady and people couldn't help but admire how mature she was at such a young age.

The said 'idol' is currenly enjoying a stroll around the capital's market along with her two maids. Wherever she goes, all eyes would unconsciously follow; she stopped at an antique shop and hesitated for a moment before entering.

When the shopkeeper saw her, he respectfully smiled before approaching her "Good afternoon Lady Veronica, how can our humble shop help you?"

"I was wondering if you have any telescopes available" she said as she scans the room.

"Ah! We certainly have a few pieces, please give me a moment to retrieve the products" he then took a bow before dashing off. In less than 5 minutes, the shopkeeper brought out 4 telescopes, all with various sizes and designs.

Veronica inspected everything thoroughly before grabbing a silver-colored pocket sized telescope. "I'll take this one, how much is it?"

The shopkeeper shook his head and beamed a smile before replying "This will be our gift to you, Young Miss"

Veronica was slightly fazed and immediately placed the telescope back to the table "No, please let me pay, this is a business you're running for a living, I can't possibly accept something for free in the pretense of a gift."

The shopkeeper was touched by her words but he still carefully handed the telescope to Veronica's hands "Lady Veronica is too kind, but tomorrow will be your coming of age, giving you a gift is simply an honor to our shop"

Veronica was still hesitant but in the end she gave in due to the extreme persistence of the shopkeeper.

After receiving the telescope, they went back to the carriage and headed towards the Reynald's household.

REYNALD HOUSEHOLD

Christopher was casually scanning a book while drinking tea. 'Today sure is a peaceful day'. He closed his eyes for a couple of seconds, but he suddenly heard a knock on his door. "Come in"

A maid with a voluptuous body entered carrying a tray of pastries, her hair was a deep shade of brown, her skin was slightly tanned, and her aura just by standing emits a great seduction to anyone who sees her.

When Christopher saw the figure enter, he gulped a mouthful of saliva before looking away "Place the pastries at the center table, then leave"

The maid carefully dropped the tray of sweets but instead of leaving she walked straight towards Christopher.

"What are you doing? Didn't I tell you to leave? Do you need anything from this lord?" his eyes were squinted as he scrutinizes the female in front of him.

The maid smiled seductively and walked forward 'till she was merely a few inches away from Christopher. He was taken a back on how gutsy this maid was but he couldn't help but acknowledge her volutuous body so he was slowly getting aroused.
