The power of five

Chapter four

They all woke up in a bad mood that morning, then again who ever wakes up happy?

Their lack of sleep from Ian's constant snoring caused purple bags under their eyes.

Everyone had bedhead (Carter's was especially bad) and was groggy. They where just starting to wake up then Ian popped out of his private room and yelled really loud "rise and shine guppllings! we're gonna have a lot of fun today!"

They all flinched and Savanna muttered "guppllings? what's a guppllings?"

Ian answered with a happy "I don't know but it's hat I'm calling you now. My little guppllings. anyways it's breakfast in ten minutes and if your not there then it's not my problem."

They looked sleepily at each other and remembered last nights events.

"We should make a special handshake or something" said Carter with a sleep cracked voice "that would be cool"

He climbed out of bed and headed into the bathroom to brush his teeth. Then Amar also tried to get out if bed but his foot got caught and he fell to the floor with a thud and a curse. "Shit! stupid floor" he mumbled

They all gave a small laugh at Amar's clumsiness.

"Not funny" he said picking himself up.

When they had all gotten ready for the day, they headed to the dinning hall.

When they opens the doors, the smell of eggs and pancakes hit their nostrils and they realized how hungry they where. Except Sypress because she already knew that she was hungry.

After they had finished their breakfast and chatted for a bit, they went back to their cabin to get their towels and such because the first activity of the day was a swim in the very small lake on the camp.

"Why do we have to swim in the morning? that's a stupid idea. What if I fall back asleep and I drown or something. I feel like I could fall asleep doing anything. It's to early in the morning" Savanna complained "why do camp people have to be so perky?"

"Heard that. I guess someone's not a morning person" said Ian poking her in the cheek. She slapped his hand away giving him a dirty look. "Grumpy to" he mumbled.

Once they had their swim suites on and had everything they needed, they headed for the lake.

While they walked on a path that lead them to their destination Sypress came up to Savanna and saw that she looked nervous.

"You ok?" she asked

"Not really. I'm kind of scared. What if John, Ethan and Lin put me in the water again. I'm fifteen now but I'm still scared of the water."

"I'll help you. I'm a good swimmer and I won't let them get close to you" said Sypress with a protective look. Savanna wasn't sure why she looked so protective but decided to let it pass.

They soon arrived at the lake and while the rest of the kids in the other cabins jumped in the water, the five kids hung back to help Savanna. Ian offered to help but they dismissed him.

"Ok first things first. Can you swim or is this just a fear if water?" asked Sypress.

"Well I know how to float but that's about it" replied Savanna a bit embarrassed.

"That's ok. We'll help you" said Amar putting his hand on her shoulder.

"But your going to have to go into the water so we can show you how to swim. But don't worry, well only go shallow at first" assured Sypress

Savanna send a worried glance at John, Ethan and Liz. Carter caught this and whispered in her ear "don't worry. If they try something I'll blast them" then sending I bit of air in her face to tell her what he meant. She have him a smile and, feeling better, put her foot in the lake.

She gasped from the sudden coldness that touched her foot. In her shock,, her hands accidentally caught flame and some people saw this and gasped but didn't say anything. But the people who saw this kept looking as if to see if she'd do it again.

Sypress quickly held Savannas flaming hands with her gloved ones and put out the flame. Then she sent a fierce glance to the people who where watching and they looked away.

Liz, Ethan and John where some of the people who saw this and started coming towards them.

"What was that, freak?" Ethan taunted. He grabbed Savanna by the hair and pulled her deeper into the water. Carter took action and threw a violent gust of wind at Ethan and he fell over.

Practically everyone in the lake was starring in shock and terror.

Rayan's eyes grew big "what if they tell someone? what will we do then? this could be a serious issue!" she said with worry.

"Don't worry" assured Amar "I don't think they'll tell. They'll sound crazy. But if they do and whoever they tell believes them, then well just have to figure something out"

A few of the councilers ran out I the lake and started making calls. They weren't good calls.

Ian came up to them and said in a serious tone "back to the cabin with me now. We have some things to discuss"
