Tonight was the last competitive activity for the Uni+ and then we would find out all of our officially ranks. Needless to say, on my way to the stage, I was nervous. Nervous that I would fail, nervous that I wouldn't make the cut, despite my constant grasp on first place.
We arrived all too soon and I was shoved into the dressing rooms, preparing for the crowds, preparing for the performance, preparing for my last official night. Our costumes, created by our teams, were waiting to be worn, to be shown to the world.
Just as the other group was finishing their performance and the staff were ushering us towards the stage, I felt a hand grasp my wrist.
"Hey good luck out there, not that you'll need it."
As I turn around, I saw Euijin with his usual bright smile and cheery attitude and I felt my worries melt away with my heart. I nod before I'm pushed up the stairs and onto the stage. As we all enter the stage, we hear cheers from all angles and I hear my name being called.
The night ended with Euijin placing second and I placed first. After the remake of 'My turn', each of the idols that placed in top 9 were given their new contracts. The contracts hadn't changed much aside from three rules.
1) We must participate with all other members of our unit, without conflict.
2) We must sacrifice rehearsal time with our group in place of our unit, and instead practice in our own time.
3) the dating rule was revoked.
I was happy to see that the dating rule was revoked, not that it affected me, but it was nice not to have the extra pressure. I was sad that I had to give up rehearsal time, but it was necessary to be on the show.
After we were all dismissed, I went outside to find Euijin. As I walked outside, I saw a small purple streak of hair glimmer in the building lights and I knew it was Euijin. He was surrounded by his members, all congratulating him. After his members had stopped crowding him as much, I ran over to him and jumped on his back, giving him a back hug in the process. Before he could even process what was happening, I was leaning over him, smiling brightly, my (h/c) falling to the side of my face.
"Congratulations! You did it! You did so well, I can't believe that you placed second! Well, I can, because you're amazing, but I'm so proud!"
"(Stage name)? Congratulations to you too! You placed first, that's even better."
I jumped off his back and grinned at him as he turned to face me. I saw surprised when Euijin wrapped his arms around my frame and hugged me tightly.
"We did it, (First name)."
I knew my ears turned red as I heard Euijin say my real name for the first time. I hugged him back as I got over my initial shock. Before we both let go.
"So I was thinking that we start working on lyrics tomorrow together, since we both have the day off before we have to record for the Uni+ again."
I didn't expect Euijin to take the initiate the recording process for our single.
"We can do it at my studio if you want? I have a studio near my dorm, to make it easier?"
Euijin agreed to my proposal. It was a good thing that I bought the studio near my dorm. This way we could focus purely on the single.
"Pick you up at 10 am?"
I nod before exchanging good-byes and leaving.
Euijin's point of view:
I watch as (First name) leaves to go to her manager. Once I look over at my group, I knew they were about to say something about the matter. Lex was the first one to elbow me in the side.
"So, is that the one that wants to do a single with us? You guys seem like more than just a couple of idols producing a single."
"I would say that we're friends."
It was Hightop's turn to tune in.
"Just friends?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
I left the boys to go to our car and placed in my headphones before drifting to sleep against the window, tired from today's work.
Regular point of view
I woke up at 7, to get ready for Euijin coming over. I placed on some ripped jeans, with my music note shirt and a pair of sneakers. I did my make up in the same natural way as I did for the dinner, but just under my winged eyeliner, I drew a small music note with my liquid eyeliner. Between a shower, breakfast and getting ready, it was already 9:45 and I had fifteen minutes before Euijin came.
When the bell rang at 9:50, I was surprised, but opened the door never-the-less. Euijin stood there looking sheepish.
"Sorry for coming early, I guess I left early thinking it would take more time to get here."
"Oh. It's fine, I'm ready anyway, so we can leave."
We both got in the car and I directed him to the studio.
By 12, we had both agreed on the lyrics we wanted to use for the song and had gone out to get lunch. We had Kimbap/gimbap, before heading back to the studio to work on the choreography.
Euijin had a multitude of ideas for the choreography and eventually, the choreography was completed and he started teaching the moves to me.
By 6 pm, we were both lying on the floor, sweating and tired from all we had accomplished. We had finished the lyric writing, making the choreography and learning it as well as recording it. All that was left was the music composition and rehearsals for the choreography before we recorded the song and music video.
As we laid on the floor, I looked over at Euijin and realised how close he was to me. He looked over at me, evidently noticing my staring. I could feel my face flush before I heard Euijin softly say my name and start to lean in.
ごめんなさい!本当ごめんなさい!今アメリカに行きます。それから、書きません。今から、もと書きます。約束します。
