Maddie's POV
"Maddie! You ready?" Joe showed from downstairs.
"Yeah, I'm coming!" I replied not long after.
I quickly hid the blades in my bag and grabbed a few random clothes from my closet and headed downstairs.
Everyone was waiting for me so as soon as I arrived, we were ready to go.
By now, Joe and I were in Caspar's car trying to go back to Caspar's as quickly as possible.
"Joe?" I said once we were a safe distance from thr house.
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry, " I said as tears started clogging up my eyes. "I'm sorry that I had to intervene with your life. I should have just gotten a hotel! I'm so stupid, I'm so stupid, I hate myself, I always do this! I always make people's lives aweful. I never meant for this to happen Joe ! I'm sorry," I said whilst banging my head on the dashboard and crying.
I felt the car stop and I looked up. We didn't arrive at Caspar's house, instead we were at an open field and it was beautiful.
The field was all green with various flowers surrounding it. Each flower was a different colour and honestly, it made me feel like im in heaven. There were also loads of rocks and one of them caught my eye. There, on the right side of the field was a big white rock that gives you the urge to climb it and look at the scenery from above. It seems that bugs and insects also find this place beautiful as there were many butterflies and mystical creatures floating around.
Not only was the scenery amazing, but the sounds itself as well. There must be a source of water somewhere in the field since you could clearly hear the peaceful sound of water. Also, the birds were singing as if there was no tomorrow.
I heard the sound of a door open and I looked around to see that Joe has gotten out of the car and was making his way towards me. He opened my door and insisted on carrying me, bridal style.
I watched silently as he walked deeper into the field and finally sat down and put me next to him.
I brought my knees up and put my head on them. I was still slightly embaressed by what I said earlier.
"Hey, look at me, " Joe said as he turned my face so that I would look at him.
"You're not worthless, in fact, you're an amazing person and I'm more than happy to help you through this. I dont care if you want me to help you or not, neither do I care if you've had an amazing past or not but I'm here to make sure that your present and future will be amazing. okay? I just want you to know that no matter what happens I would always be here for you." Joe said like he has been practicing this speech for quite a while now.
I put my head on his shoulder and cried softly.
"This is beautiful, Joe," I said calmly.
"Indeed it is," he replied.
And after that, I felt my eyelids getting heavier as they softly shut themselves up and I fell asleep.
Joe's POV

I mean, she was an amazing person, she couldn't really mean them, right?
Maddie placed her head on my shoulders. Everything felt like it was back to normal, except it wasn't.
"This is beautiful," Maddie commented.
"Indeed it is," I started, then paused a little. "Just like you."
I don’t know if I was happy or not that Maddie had already slept and didn't hear my comment. Nonetheless, I added, "I love you Maddie," and carried her to the car.
I buckled Maddie in her seat and slid in the car, heading towards Caspars house. I'm gonna keep Maddie safe no matter what happens.
