Maddie’s POV

I waited outside for Zoe; I didn’t want to go back inside and be bombarded with a bunch of questions. I know Joe will understand and stay quiet, but you never know how Caspar will react. Plus, from what I’ve seen, Caspar was a loud guy.

I turned my head to the right then left to look for Zoe. To my luck, Zoe’s black car was heading my way. She stopped in front of the house and I got in. Zoe stayed quiet the whole time which is what I needed.

I took this as an excuse to think about my life. It’s funny how one certain event can change your whole life. Literally, when I decided to move to London, this was not how I pictured it. I imagined I would be happy in a quiet hotel, seeking inspiration from different views and trips that I would take. I imagined myself finishing my book and maybe a few years later I would become well known by a fair amount of people. But, wow, where my encounter with Joe has gotten me. I am now surrounded by what some people – fangirls and fanboys – call their ‘idols’. I try my best not to take this for granted. I guess I should be happy now since I can easily consider them my friends… okay fine, best friends. I guess that without them, I probably would be with Ryan by now.

I was going to continue my useless thoughts when the car slowly came to a halt. I looked outside the car window and found the place quite familiar. It was a mountain view, the place I first came to write my book after we moved to Caspars house. I remember feeling relaxed and confident, like I had a new start in the world. I guess I still do; I just need to take advantage of it.

“Alright, start talking. Whats wrong?” Zoe asked as she walked towards me and embraced me in a side hug.

I sat on the ground as did Zoe and began talking, “he wont leave me alone.” I started crying again as Zoe comforted me. “For all I know, he could be here right now, spying on me,” I said, in between sobs.

“Yeah but we’re here. Joe, Caspar and I. We wont let him take you. We love you Maddie; we’re your friends. Trust me, we have your back.” She said, in hopes of making me feel better. Unfortunately, it didn’t.

“I just, I don’t know.”

“What do you not know?”

“This doesn’t feel right. Im not supposed to be here. Coming to London was a huge mistake. I ‘ll leave tomorrow, I just need to book a ticket.” I rambled on. It was true though, its not like I was getting any inspiration anyway.

“No!” Zoe shouted. “You are not leaving, you cant! Please don’t go! Look, im always a phone call away, just ring me anytime you feel something fishy. I don’t care if it was ever a false call. Hell, id be happy if it was cause that just means we can hang out.”

“Fine. But if anything else goes wrong, I’m going home.” I agreed, although I really wanted to leave. Maybe a second chance is needed, though.

“Alright, deal. Do you want to go home?”

“Yes please.”

We both entered the car and were on our way home.

“Hey Zoe?” I asked halfway through the journey.

“Yeah?”

“Thanks. A lot.”

“No problem, Maddie.”

We made it home and Zoe stayed over for a while. Joe didn’t talk to me about the incident which is what im thankful for. Caspar, however, has no clue about anything happening.

We watched TV for a while and then I excused myself to go to my room. I didn’t feel entirely safe to stay alone in my room, but I really wanted to finish what I started… the book.

I opened my laptop and continued writing.

Joe’s POV

I feel quite bad about Maddie, I should’ve heard her sooner. How did I not hear her?! Im a terrible boyfriend. I should probably go check up on her but I can tell that she needed her space. Nevertheless, I excused myself and went up towards her room. I didn’t enter it, however, I just sat in front of the door. I want to know whenever something bad happens to her so I can help her as soon as I can.

About 10 minutes later, I was so tired; I went to sleep.

Maddies POV

I finished writing a chapter for my book about my life. Im not really happy with it cause my writing skills were still horrible. I decided I’ll edit it later on.

Not wanting to stay alone for any longer, I opened the door to sit with the others.

To my surprise, Joe was on the other side and he was sleeping which resulted in him falling backwards into my room.

I tried my best not to laugh, but I couldn’t help it.

“What are you laughing at, mate?” Joe said with his eyes closed and his voice obviously tired.

“Nothing, I wasn’t laughing anyways. So what were you doing infront of my room?” I quickly covered up.

“I didn’t want to invade your privacy but I also didn’t want to leave you alone so I compromised.” He explained.

“Aww” I cooed as I helped him up.

We both headed downstairs holding hands. I guess I can stay here safely for a bit longer.
