Chapter 1 – My Savior

Neslyn’s POV

I’ve been in love with him since freshmen until now that we finally have our own lives after college. I am in love with the Barista of the coffee shop by the end of the street. He is my first love, my world, my everything. He was my savior and I was just someone among the crowd who admires him as well.

I’m Neslyn, 23 years old at the moment, I’m a Sketch Artist, and what I love doing everyday? I make sketches of Xiumin every morning. No, I’m not a stalker. I’m his admirer for 10 years now. Why do I love him you ask?

Well, it started back when I was about to enter freshman year in junior high. I was crying at the park wondering why I failed to be accepted in my dream junior high school. I was really depressed that I didn’t want to go home cause I know my mom will just scold me for not being accepted. I went to stroll the river just to get my mind out of all the depression I’m feeling, then someone grabbed my hand.

“Y-you forgot th-this at the park a-while ago,” he said while catching his breath.

“Are you stalking me?” I asked him directly, pulling my hand from his hold.

He smiled at me and said, “You’re funny, I just said that you forgot this at the park.”

He handed me my book that was given by my dad when I was just 5. It was very precious to me. How can I be so stupid to forget something this important?  I was about to say sorry to him for assuming that he was stalking me, and also thank him for giving my book back, but he handed me his handkerchief.

“Use it. You need it. I don’t know why you were crying at the park, but I don’t like seeing pretty girls cry. ” he said with such a warm smile.

“Thanks but I don’t need it anymore.” I smiled at him trying to look better.

“Sometimes we hide our tears with smiles just to look strong. But sometimes, we just have to let them out, not because we’re weak, but because we’ve been strong long enough to be tired of hiding the pain.” He said while looking directly at my eyes.

“You sound like someone with a lot of experience.” I said.

“Well, my mom died when I was just 7. She told me not to cry, but be strong in facing life. I tried to smile before she went.” He told me.

“I’m so sorry,” I said sincerely.

He smiled at me and said, “No need, I know she’s happy up there, watching and guiding me all through everything.”

“Thank you, this book was given by my dad and it contains a lot of our memories together.” I told him.

“Where is he?” he asked.

“Up there as well, he went when I was 9. He died in a plane crash.” I replied sounding weak.

He reached my hand and said, “He’s guiding and loving you up there, just keep living happily.”

His smile gave me warmth and encouragement. I nearly forgot about the depression I was feeling about my failed results. I was really curious of who he was and asked him directly.

“I’m Xiumin, incoming freshman at Namimori Junior High, and you’re?” he said.

Before I could even answer, his phone rang and he said he needs to go already. He started to run and left me with his handkerchief in my hand.

“I’ll see you around Princess, don’t cry anymore. Get a hold of that and just return it to me when you’re all better.” He shouted while waving his hand.

That moment, I felt some spark inside, fireworks started to cause commotion in my head. Am I in love? Probably. This is the first time I’m feeling this way. Yes. I am in love with Xiumin.
