My Bittersweet First Love (EXO - Xiumin FanFic)

Chapter 2 - The Unexpected Meeting

Neslyn’s POV

I took the entrance exam at Xiumin’s school. Luckily, I got accepted, my results were better than expected. I let out a little laugh, maybe the reason why I passed was because of my new resolve: I want to be close with Xiumin.

Tomorrow’s the first day, I went out to the park today to ease my mind from ‘first day blues’ I always experience each school year. I went out with a book in one hand and my phone on the other. My earphones are on, volume up, nobody can bother me.

I passed by a small bakery. It was a newly opened store, I went inside to grab a bite. As I entered, my eyes wandered inside the store. I saw my favorite mocha bun, I went straight to grab it.

I couldn’t reach for it, I tiptoed just to get a hold of even just one of those heavenly treats. I was pretty desperate, I was about to jump when a guy taller than me took 2 mocha buns and handed me one.

I stared at him, he smiled at me then reached for my hand and gave me one mocha bun. I gave him a nod as a thank you for lending me a hand, he just smiled and left.

After my short trip at the bakery, I walked around till I reached the park. The same old park where I met Xiumin a week ago. It became my favorite place ever since that time. I usually sit at one of the benches, but for today I went to sit on one of the swings. I ate the mocha bun I bought, it suddenly reminded me of the guy who helped me just to have what I’m eating right now. Who is he anyway? Is he the same age as me? What school does he goes to? Wait, why do I even care? I like Xiumin already. I shouldn’t think of any other guys anymore.

A few moments passed by, I was done eating that sweet treat, then started reading the book I brought with me. It was one of my favorites, I never get tired reading it over and over again.

As I was reading, I heard a few noises at the court beside the park. I pulled out my earphones and closed my book to check out the commotion happening there. I saw a few guys playing basketball and a few girls watching by the benches. I was about to leave when I heard a familiar voice.

“Yaah! Luhan-ah, pass it here!” Xiumin shouted.

“Aigoo~ Here~” the guy called Luhan passed the ball towards him.

It really is Xiumin, the guy I really like. He plays basketball? That’s just too manly, with his cute face and sweet personality, it makes me like him more.

I stayed there for just a short while to watch him play with his friends, but when they got tired, they went to have a break and went to sit on the benches. A few girls went to them and gave out towels and bottled waters, I saw Xiumin thanked the girl who gave him a towel and messed her hair, the girl blushed.

I couldn’t bare to see that sight, it was like something was piercing my chest. I know I don’t have any right, but try to understand that this feeling is just new to me.

I went back to sit on the swing and continued reading my book, then suddenly the wind blew and my bookmark flew away from me. I started to search for it, when I finally did, it was at the middle of the road, I saw no cars were passing by and went to picked it at once, but I almost got hit by an over speeding van.

Next thing I knew, I was still breathing and I was being hugged by somebody.

I lifted my face to see the one who helped me keep my life. To my surprise, it was the same guy I met at the bakery. His eyes were filled with worries and shock. I slowly pulled away from his hug.

“I’m sorry, and thank you for saving me.” I said to him while looking down.

He held my chin and lifted my face to see if I’m really okay.

“Are you okay? Are you hurting anywhere? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?” he said with a worried face.

“No no no, it’s okay. I can manage. Thank you for saving me, if it weren’t for you, I might have been rushed to the hospital now. Really, thank you.” I thanked him.

He let out a sigh of relief then turned to me and smiled.

“Good. You gave me such a fright awhile ago. I’m Sehun by the way.” He smiled and offered his hand to me.

“Neslyn. Thanks again, Sehun.” I took his hand as to greet him.

“So, want me to take you home?” he offered.

“It’s okay, I don’t want to bother you anymore when I gave such a headache already.” I explained.

“Nahh, don’t mention it. I just happened to pass by. Are you free? Wanna grab some bubble tea?” he said with such a sweet smile.

“Oh, okay. I love bubble teas! I like chocolate the best!”

 

“Seriously?! Me too! Chocolate certainly outstands everything!”

 

“Let’s go then?” I asked him.

“Let’s go, I know a place where their bubble teas are amazingly good.” He exclaimed.

I nodded at him and we walked our way there. We talked a lot while walking, about him and about me. I didn’t realize this earlier, but Sehun is pretty much of a flower boy. His looks are just extraordinary, he has such a sweet face and adorable personality. We became closer as time passed by while we were talking about things we wanted to know ‘bout one another.

He’s a nice guy, the girl he likes is such a lucky girl. After our trip to the bubble tea store, we went out just to walk around. A few hours later, I didn’t realize that it was already afternoon. He took me home and we exchanged numbers to keep in touch.

Sehun is just too kind. I hope I get closer to Xiumin like how I did with Sehun today.
