Meg and Calvin: Together Forever

Part 3

The day flew by, until it got to final period. P.E. As meg changed into her kit, she saw veronica and her friends looking at her and laughing a mean laugh. Meg rolled her eyes and walked out of the changing room with the other girls in her year, and saw Calvin talking to a friend. He turned and saw meg and smiled at her, causing several other girls to glance at her confusedly. Meg just blushed and walked out the door.
They were supposed to be in partners for basketball, but no one ever wanted to go with meg so she stood alone until she heard Charles Wallace shouting to her.
"DID YOU HEAR ME MEG? YOU HAVE MORE POTENTIAL THAN ANY OF THEM" he shouted.
Everyone turned and started laughing.
"Well, I guess it runs in the family then".
Meg spun around and found herself face to face with Veronica. "Excuse me?" She said.
Veronica took a step closer. "Your brothers crazier than your dad" she said and she turned to walk away. Meg pulled a ball out of someone's hands.
"Hey, Veronica!" Meg shouted. As veronica turned around, Meg threw the ball. It hit veronica in the face and she fell. People ran over to help veronica, others came to stare at Meg including Calvin, who looked at her interestedly. The next thing Meg knew she was in the principals office.
"Meg," the principal began, "I know Veronicas a bully, but you cant harm people. You can't keep using your fathers disappearance as an excuse to act out." Meg stood up and walked out. She grabbed Charles Wallace and started walking home. That night, Meg fell asleep once again thinking of Calvin.
The next morning, Meg took the dog and Charles Wallace for a walk. "Meg?" Charles Wallace said softly. Meg looked at him. "You shouldn't have thrown that ball at Veronica" he said.
"Why not?" Chuckled a new but familiar voice that caused Meg to stop. "You got a good throwing arm" Calvin laughed as he walked alongside her. "You're Meg right?" Meg blushed and smiled.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, barely containing her smile.
"Just walking around this neighbourhood" he looked at her grinning.
They walked around talking until they reached an old house and realised Charles Wallace was about to go in the house. They ran after him and wound up in the living room. Charles Wallace told the others that this was the home of Mrs. Who. "Lets leave her be. We'll see her again very soon" he said. Calvin and Meg looked at each other and smiled as they left.
