The park

Jackson's POV

My hands are shaking while I wait for Parker to arrive. I saw him come around the corner and my heart begins to race. He sees me and sits next to me on the park bench.

" Hey," he says.

" Hi." Just ask him!

" So, about last night..."

" Yeah, what happened at the party?" he says, turning to face me on the bench.

" Did we...?"

" I don't remember. I was so drunk."

" Yeah me too," I say. I run my hands through my hair, trying to remember what happened.

" I think we came out to each other," I say, slightly laughing.

" Well better then when I was drunk than sober," he says laughing with me.

" So, if we did, you know, what does that mean?" I ask. He thinks for a minute, almost like he's contemplating if he even wants to try or not.

" We could try... I mean only if you want to," he says. My world comes to a crashing halt. Did he just ask me to be his boyfriend?! Holy crap!

" Um..." I start.

" I don't want to pressure you! I mean we only just met like 2 days ago," he says. I didn't know what to say.

" I don't know. I've never actually been in a relationship like this before."

" We can take it slow, I don't want you to feel rushed," he says. I smile at him, giving him the answer that he wanted. When I look into his eyes, the world seems to slow down around us, and the lollipops and swirlies begin to pop up all around us. He leans in and is about to kiss me when Hannah calls out.

" Hey, guys!" We both jump away and look at her.

" Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt you," she says, laughing.

" How did you know we were here?" I ask her, moving over on the bench so she could sit down.

" I didn't. I was just on a walk and I saw you two here."

" Wanna play on the playground? No one is here, so we won't look like a bunch of teenage creeps," Parker says.

" Sure," Hannah replies. We all run to the playset and try to figure out what game to play.

" Let's play tag, but you can't touch the ground," Parker suggests.

" Okay... NOT IT!" I yell.

" NOT IT!" Hannah yells, leaving Parker to be it.

" Wow, I see how it is," he says laughing. We quickly spread out and begin the game. Parker begins to go after Hannah, but with her being more flexible than us, she was able to not get caught without touching the ground. We played for a long time until it was about 10 and the fireflies were coming out.

" As much fun as this is, I have to get home for a family thing. I'll see you guys later.

" Bye!" we say together. We watch her leave and then I turn to Parker and hit his arm.

" You're it," I say, before running up the stairs and go towards the slide. He runs behind me and I start to go down the slide, thinking he was behind me. I slide down, and he meets me at the bottom. I was trapped, not knowing what to do. He touches my arm and smirks.

" You're it," he says, before leaning down, his lips meeting mine. My world explodes at the touch. I bring my hands around to his torso, bringing him closer to me. He pulls away from me too soon and smiles at me.

" Hey, if we are really doing this, my parents want to meet you," he says. I guess I was really bad at containing my facial expressions because he noticed I was nervous.

" Don't worry, they know that I'm gay. They are really supportive, and I know that they will love you," he says.

" Okay," I say.

" Really? Don't feel pressured if you're not ready to."

" No, it's okay. I want to meet them," I reassure him. He smiles and gives me a quick kiss before pulling me up.

" Okay, tomorrow night then. And hey, I wanna meet your parents too," he says, making me stop.

" What's wrong?"

" Uh... they're really busy," I say. The lie slipped out so easy, I didn't even think about it.

" Okay, well whenever works for them," he says, taking my hand in his. He walks me home and gives me a quick kiss goodbye before leaving. I walk inside and see my mom asleep on the couch with the TV on. I put a blanket over her and go up to my room. I change out of my clothes and fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow.
