Jackson's POV

I meet Hannah for breakfast, and I know that Parker won't be with her. She comes in and sees me, coming over.

" Hey, Parker is sick so it's just us."

" Okay. I already ordered so..."

" Great. So what's up with you and Parker anyways?"

" What do you mean?" I ask.

" Well, almost 24 hours ago you were stuck together like two peas in a pod and now you're... not."

" Yeah, well sometimes things happen," I say. I can hear myself start to get defensive, but I couldn't help it.

" Chill out Jackson, I was just asking a question."

" I have to go anyways, sorry." I get up and walk out, leaving Hannah there alone. I walk to the park to clear my mind. I didn't know why I lied still. I don't want to lose Parker, but I don't know how my mom would react to the news. She probably thinks that Hannah and I are gonna get married. I sit down on a bench and try to decide whether I tell my mom or not. I heard a crack and looked up, seeing raindrops coming down on me. I sighed, got up and began to go home, the rain coming down harder. I stop under a tree for a little, when my phone buzzes. I look at it, seeing a text from Hannah.

H: I know what happened between you and Parker. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I want to help you. Please meet me at my house.

I contemplated about ignoring her, but I knew she would find me anyways.

J: Fine. Be there in 5.

I put my phone away and turned to go to her house. When I rang the doorbell, her mom answered.

" Jackson, good to see you. Come on in," she says. I walk in and stand in the doorway so I wouldn't drip everywhere.

" Let me grab you a towel. You must be freezing!" she says, walking away. Hannah comes down the stairs.

" Hey."

" Hi. Your mom is grabbing me a towel," I say, just as her mom comes around the corner.

" Here you go," she says, handing it to me. I dry myself off and then follow Hannah up to her room.

" So why didn't you tell me what happened between you two?" she asks, sitting on her bean bag. I sit down on her other chair and play with her pillow.

" I don't know. It was so fresh I didn't feel like talking about it. And he told you anyways so it wouldn't have made a difference," I say.

" He said that you told him your mom didn't know about you being gay."

" Yeah, I haven't. I'm too scared to tell her because I don't think that she will accept it," I tell her. When those words leave my mouth, the tears come out of my eyes. Hannah comes over and wraps her arms around me.

" Hey, she's your mom. She will love you no matter what," she tells me.

" I want to tell her, I'm just so scared."

" Do you want me to go with you?" I look up at her and relief washes over me.

" You would do that for me?" I ask her through my tears.

" Oh my god Jackson. We're best friends! I would do anything for you!" I nod and hug her back.
