Going Back

"Done," Naruto said as he wiped sweat from his brow as he stepped away from the finished seal. (A.N: pic above) It was difficult to concentrate as the terrain he had to use was not smooth and the sounds of battle didn't help either.

Sasuke came up behind him and wrapped his arms around Naruto's waist pulling him to his chest. "You did great," Sasuke whispered in Naruto's ear. He knew that Naruto wanted to help fight as he heard cries from the battlefield and commended him for not running or sending a clone to help.

"It wasn't easy. I'm supposed to protect them as their Hokage." Naruto murmured.

Sasuke closed his eyes. "I know but you will save them don't forget that." He said kissing his cheek. Naruto nodded.

"Alright! Everyone take your position! And think about Naruto's 18th birthday! This will allow us to travel to that time period!" Kurama shouted going to the center.

"Hai!" They all shouted as they ran to their respective element symbol.

Kurama took a deep breath and began the chant.

Guardian and God of space and time!

Listen to me! I call upon you!

Oh, almighty god of space and time!

Give guidance to us! Give protection to us!

Dissolve this timeline 'till it is no more and send us back!

Here we give the offering of chakra to back you up!

Open the doors of time!

Let us take ourselves back so that a better future can happen!

By the will of the Sage of Six Paths!

I say to you Guardian and God of time to open the doors!

Take us back!

Kurama winced as he felt the elemental chakra hit him as he was not his regular size. As he proceeded to say the chant again he had a nagging feeling. 'Why do I feel like I forgot to say something to them?' He thought.

"How much more?! We are still weak from battle ya know!" Naruto shouted after about 20 minutes. Around him, his comrades were gritting their teeth and beginning to sweat. He could hold out longer than them though.

At the statement, Kurama snapped his eyes open. "Oh..." he muttered. That's what was bothering him. He winced as the seal glowed bright beginning to activate itself. "That's enough! Stop!" he shouted. At once everyone ceased their actions and grew worried. The seal made a faint hissing sound.

"Kurama?!" Naruto cried out worried.

"Shit! We overloaded it!" Kurama hissed.

"What do you mean?!" Naruto shouted. They just couldn't fail!

"Hold on!" Kurama shouted. The seal glowed and in a flash of bright light, a portal opened from above sucking them in. In the portal, they saw ticking clocks and on some of them held events.

"Why did we not stop?" Neji asked as they passed not only Naruto's birthday but the end of the 4th Great Shinobi War.

"You see the amount of chakra we give affects how far back we go. So even though Guardian and God of Time knew where we wanted to land he sent us back according to how much chakra we gave." Kurama said gritting his teeth as they sped up.

"How do we stop it?!" Shikamaru said as they passed the Genin exams.

*Thud*

They turned around and saw both Neji and Gaara pass out. The rest also felt weaker.

"What's going on?" Sasuke panted as he also felt faint. Not that he would admit it. Naruto was leaning on Sasuke for support.

"We went too far back. Your spiritual selves are fighting the current ones. Rest." Kurama said. With that, both Naruto and Sasuke passed out holding hands. Naruto falling on top of Sasuke in a position that will cause Naruto to blush heavily when he awoke.

Kurama took a deep breath and began another chant which he said quickly seeing it pass the time when Iruka and Kakashi saved Naruto from the group of Kunoichi.

Guardian and God of space and time!

Listen to me!

I call upon you!

Hear my plea!

Close the doors of space and time!

Take our offering that has overwhelmed you and stop!

Let us change the future at this point in time!

In a flash of bright light with the dinging of clocks, everyone landed on soft grass. Tired Kurama went back to his seal without bothering to see their ages. Just as he was about to shut his eyes he heard a voice.

'You did well. Here are two objects that will help you. I think you know who it goes to.' A mysterious voice said as two crystals appeared in front of Kurama.

Kurama realizing it was the God of Time only sighed and as he thought back to his companions had only one thought before he fell asleep,'They are going to kill me...'

Unknown to them screams were heard.....
