It has been quite some time and our group is no longer five. Gaara made his choice. With help from his friends and lover, he managed to save his uncle. What the tiny child killed was a decoy. His uncle was hidden and comatose at the moment.
Sasuke offered one of the underground houses of the Uchiha to keep him. It became their lair as it was not used for a while. Naruto placed his seals so it would be more secure. Although they prevented one death they knew they could not awaken Yashamaru. Gaara wept a bit and as the mind of his child self decayed he had to stay with Neji. Not that either minded.
Now it is almost time for the Uchiha Massacre and they still do not know what Sasuke wished to do.
"Sasuke with all due respect we have less than a year," Shikamaru stressed to the former supporting kage. He did not understand why Sasuke was so conflicted. Personally, he'd want to save them all but he understood the risk.
"I know," Sasuke said with a sigh. "Just bear with me." He muttered as he stood up. Shikamaru looked up eagerly knowing Sasuke reached a decision. Sasuke took a breath as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Well?" Neji asked. "Gaara is getting antsy." He said as he brushed a piece of his hair away from his face. He looked at his kages with calculating lavender eyes.
"I want to save them. But not all of them." Sasuke said. He unrolled a scroll he took out. It was a diagram and members of the family. "They still have to repent and Danzo will be suspicious since he does take their eyes." He explained.
"So there are specific people you want to... execute?" Naruto said hesitantly knowing this was a delicate subject. Sasuke gave him a warm smile before he sighed.
"Most of the Uchiha family will be eliminated and I am willing to live with that," Sasuke said as he took a deep breath. "Although, I won't lie. Most of them I haven't even met so I don't care. And others..." He pursed his lips.
"You don't like so you'll be glad they're gone?" Neji inputted helpfully. Coming from a clan who prized their Dōjutsu and was arrogant he understood the need for some people being uh, killed.
"Yeah," Sasuke answered with a shrug to which Naruto and Shikamaru only gaped. Shikamaru loved his clan but he understood how different it was from strict ones like the Uchiha and Hyūga. Naruto could not as he did not grow with one and adores his family and village. Although, he tried to understand these feelings his husband had.
"So who will live?" Naruto asked softly. He took a breath an let it out to calm himself. This moment was life-changing for his lover.
"Itachi, Shisui, Mom, Dad, aunt, uncle, and a few more," Sasuke said. He looked up sheepishly. "Like I said. I don't remember much of them. Only my immediate family and the people who bid me farewell on the morning of the massacre." He said with a shrug.
"Kinda got that since you did not call them by their names," Shikamaru said referring to the aunt and uncle. He only got another shrug. "Anyway, we could work with that. Just get a few more people." He sighed.
"Don't worry!" Sasuke said as he waved his hand. "We can get the ones with kids and their parents." He said as he circled a few houses with a marker. "And over here..." He circled some more. "Are people who are expecting and those who are... fertile or will be." He mumbled.
"So why fertile?" Neji had the need to ask.
"People are still gonna die. If they make babies the clan will be fine." Sasuke said as he waved their concerns away. "I suggest waking them after the attack but before the war." He said seriously. "Loyalties are needed as well as strength." He said.
