To Be Suspicious or Trusting?

Itachi was unhappy.

And he was unhappy because he was confused. He hated being confused. Why was he confused? His precious little brother who had been kidnapped two years ago, was acting weird.

Itachi noticed it when he saw Sasuke manipulate his chakra. The boy didn't seem to realize he was there and continued to play around with his chakra.

This had Itachi on high alert. As far as he knew, Sasuke never learned how to do such things. But he brushed it off thinking Sasuke would eventually mention it to him. So when he made some stray comments about manipulating chakra he expected a reaction from Sasuke. And, well, he got one...but it wasn't what he was aiming for.

Sasuke looked confused at his comment before saying it would be 'a cool thing to do' which was not what Itachi expected to hear.

So now he was worriedly watching his brother every move.

Not spying.

Not stalking.

No, he was worriedly watching his brother.

At least that's what he told himself.

"Itachi?.... What are you doing?" This voice belonged to Shisui Uchiha. Currently, he was behind Itachi who was watching his brother at the academy. "I know you have a day off and miss your brother but..." He trailed off. "This is creepy. Almost obsessive." He declared.

"Shut up Shisui." Itachi said not looking away from his brother. Sasuke was standing in line for throwing shuriken.

"Itachi, if you're worried about how he's doing... I'm sure he'll beat his class at throwing." Shisui said attempting to get Itachi's attention.

"Go away."

Shisui twitched in annoyance. His cousin never brushed him off. He took a deep breath. Surely there was a reason to the way Itachi was acting. "Itachi..." He began only to pause when there were cheers.

"Uwah! Sasuke-kun is so cool!"

"He got them all!"

"Just what you would expect from my Sasuke-kun!"

"Your Sasuke-kun?!"

But those screeches were not what caught Shisui's eye. No, what caught his eye was the smile Sasuke had. And that smile was directed at a little blonde-haired boy. Why was this intriguing? Uh, well because Sasuke smiles for no one that is not in the Uchiha Clan.

"He's smiling?!" Shisui screeched forgetting he was hidden and in an instant the leaves that hid them disappeared. In front of them was a protective Irika-sensei who faltered at the sight of two Uchiha's.

"What are you doing here?" Iruka asked politely. Shisui and Itachi looked at each other and down to see Sasuke looking at them. Although, he had his poker face Itachi and Shisui could see the mortification in his eyes.

"Ja!" Shisui said quickly as he grabbed Itachi and shunshined out of there. Iruka could only stare at the spot, Was he being observed? Or was it to check on their clan member? He looked toward Sasuke who turned away.

"Uh, shall we continue?" Iruka asked. The class cheered as they continued their practice. Soon it was time for dismissal and as he watched the kids leave decided to brush off the incident. Since the academy was empty, he left. At least... he thought it was empty.

Up on the rooftop were two boys conversing. However, if one looked close it would be clear that they were not just boys. "What was your brother doing?" Naruto asked as he turned to Sasuke.
