Ravenkit woke up in the small den for queens and, kits under six moons. She gave a small yawn, glancing around the dimly lit den. She noticed the two large mounds of fur.

One was her mother, a mostly white she-cat with markings of black fur on her back, and dark teal eyes that spoke more of her personality then anything. The other a gray cat with white markings on her paws and tail tip.

Ravenkit's mother, Whitespring, was bound to be up soon. Ravenkit being only 2 moons old wasn't allowed out of the camp. Ravem was fairly small for a kit, not expected to survive through leaf-bare due to the cold and usual sickness that spread around.

It was getting closer to be new-leaf a time when prey was back and the days were wormer. Ravenkit heard stories from elders of one particularly hard leaf-bare, back in the old territory's. She was wistful of seeing them one day. Passing throuh all the two-leg dens and crossing thunderpaths. She never has seen a either though, two legs come to the lake every green-leaf, so, something fo look forward to.

Ravenkit got to her paws wanting to move, heard a story from the elders, or talk to the other kits. Maybe Sweetkit or Waterkit would like to play? She thought absently looking for the small piles of fur. Smokekit the oldest kit out of all of them was stirring slightly next to the grey queen named Strongheart. Strongheart's kits Littlepaw and Frozenpaw had recently become apprentices. Smokekit, having lost his mother to a sickness a little after he was born, was raised by Strongheart. Raven shook her head slightly, Smokekit wasn't bad but he could be mean and a little bossy when playing.

Raven looked at the other two small piles a tortishell coat next to a plain grey coat. She couldn't help but feel a small twinge of sorrow at this, though she knew Waterkit would choose Sweetkit over her. Deciding that she wouldn't wake them she walked toward the den's entrance.

She peeked her small head out and looked around toward the apprentices den. Quiet, She thought a little disappointed. Well, it is still a little cold she reasoned. She slipped back in to the den knowing that the other kits had less energy then her usally. She layed back down next to her mother, relaxing in the warmth, and fell back in to a light sleep.
